BREAKING: unemployment rate falls to 4.7%

4.7% ???

Remember when Republicans chanted that the unemployment rate was the most important economic indicator?

You have to factor in the labor participation rate. The rate was pretty steady from 1992-2008 under Clinton and Bush. Unfortunately it's been in decline ever since Obama took office.

U.S. job creation weak, even as unemployment rate falls to 4.7%Poor job creation but unemployment falls. The poor GOP JUST CANNOT WIN!
Are you serious?.
Of course, you do know he is totally serious, like a scrotum rash.
Honestly, I can never tell at this point.

Go listen ti trump a while. He is determined to make the country his Kingdom.

So a lowered unemployment rate is only good during a Republican administration?

You do know that number is a rigged number? Lol
It depends fully on participation rate... The more people who have given up looking for a job, and the rate goes down.
Part time jobs don't qualify for "employment" in the real world, that's a European concept of socialist failure...

No need to. I've already looked up the stats from 2001-2016 and it's obvious President Bush has a much healthier job market than Obama. Admittedly, things start to decline a little when Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi take over in 2006.

Labor participation rate has been declining since 2000 when Bush took office

The decline represents 4 million baby boomers who drop from the workforce every year. It also includes 16 year olds, the handicapped and stay at home moms

Why do you want retirees, teenagers and new mothers to be working?

For some reason I can't get you to answer my question.

You're gloating over 38,000 new jobs in a time of a fragile economy, the worst showing in five years.

I'm just asking if you're serious.

Straightforward question.

And by the way, here's the reason for the rate drop:

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The U.S. created just 38,000 new jobs in May and nearly half a million people dropped out of the labor force, casting doubt on whether the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates this summer.

It's a by-product of having career politician controlled federal government... Private sector job loss/Decline/shorter work week.

Yeah....but that is when people are actually counted.....when you get people to stop looking for work so they get taken off the rolls, and then aren't counted.......that isn't what people think when you talk about unemployment level moron.....

A record 94,708,000 Americans were not in the labor force...
End of story

Baby Boomers are retiring in record numbers, as will I shortly.
