We should give all our real estate away to folks who inherit wealth the way Clive and his daddy and his daddy before him did. When folks inherit their wealth like that we should should give them rights and deeds of the Kings land and call them Lords. The can be our aristocrats.

And, who beyond the wealth envy club, give a tinker's damn that Bundy inherited his land from his daddy. Most ranchers and farmers inherit their land. The question is not about how Bundy got his land, but is about the government mismanagement of the public lands.

Bundy and his supporters are the ones who continuously mention that the ranch and grazing rights have been in the Bundy family and handed down for generations. From a business and legal standpoint this means absolutely nothing. If a private real estate manager allowed this factor to negatively impact the income revenue derived from the management of your leased property you would have them in court for mismanagement. The BLM is far more fair and ethical than any private management firm would be.

The issue started when BLM dropped the amount of cattle he could graze on the land below a viable number, due to the tortoise. That's when he made the decision to stop paying, and begin fighting them in court.

The BLM knew they couldn't outright ban the ranchers from using the land, so they did the next best thing, make the regulations so onerous that the ranchers would be forced to quit.

And he lost and ignored a federal judge...he is a dead beat criminal

Maybe millions of young Americans that owe student debt should put on cowboy hats and sport .44 magnums on their hips and protest their debt. Reckon gun toting conservatives would show up in solidarity for them?

You can call BLM apple pie but it doesnt change the fact that he broke the law. The Courts heard his case a number of times and found him to be in violation.

The ranch and the grazing rights are two separate but related issues. The ranch is private property, but the ranch business cannot continue to exist without the grazing rights. Is that too difficult for you to comprehend?

From a business and legal standpoint, the BLM is not supposed to be in the business of driving ranchers out of the ranching business. The BLM is no more ethical or fair than the people who are in control of the BLM. Little details like that should not escape your attention.

Ranchers do not lease the public lands. They lease grazing rights to the public lands, and in the West, grazing rights to public lands is essential to the ranching business. An arbitrary limitation on grazing rights may seem negligible to you, but to the ranchers who must rely on grazing rights, it is life and death to their business.

Try having regulation create a de facto ban on your business and see how you react to it. BLM wanted the Ranchers out of the area, so they set the head of cattle limits so low so as to make the herd sizes for each Rancher economically nonviable, thus protecting the wee turtles and putting the ranchers out of business.
