Many don't realize, but there's a lot of similarities between Caesar and Trump.

Both were raging criminals.

Caesar spent 5+ years in Gaul because he couldn't get far enough away from Rome, the legal government of Rome was going to try him for crimes (high crimes and misdemeanors?) he committed during his Consulship. These weren't "trumped" up charges either. Caesar knew he would lose any legal battle because he was guilty as sin, and used the powers of his office to avoid prosecution.

And then coordinated with Crassus and Pompey to get a "get out of jail free card" which was his Proconsulship in Transalpine Gaul.

This is what directly led to Caesar "crossing the Rubicon". The Senate didn't forget Caesar's crimes, empowered Pompey to enforce the law, and demanded Caesar disband his army (the "GALL" of the Senate? The government of Rome demanding a General disband his army, how dare they!?).

Of course, Caesar couldn't, because then any beggar could apprehend him and turn him in to the authorities.

So instead, Caesar invaded Rome with his personal army, and turned the Republic into sh.t, all under the guise of removing "corrupt" bureaucrats. Go figure.

Caesar is good for some cheap pizza. Not bad for the price.
