California Just Had Its Warmest Winter on Record

The map above ranks every state's winter temperature average relative to its own historical record low (in other words, relative to itself and not to other states). Low numbers indicate that the state was unusually cold; higher numbers mean it was exceptionally warm. As you can see, the Midwest was much colder than average, while the West was hotter than average (despite a season-long kerfluffle about polar vortexes, the East Coast wasn't exceptionally cold, after all).

Good for them they must have saved a bunch on heating bills, very unlike the east coast, and most of the rest of the country.

Hahahahaha
Damn near the whole country was below average, and you pick out the one state that was above record.
Haha....you can't make this stuff up.

Not at all. Look at the map. The area that was about average or higher is actually larger than the area that was colder. Them's just the facts.

That's weather, not climate.

Thanks for agreeing me-----me and 97% of climate scientists. 'bout time deniers began pulling the wool from their eyes and agreeing with what some of us have been saying for years...WTG

That is another lie, can you believe the government at all?

On the 13th of February the Government declared the World's Largest Solar Plant Operational when it is not.

Last year our reservoirs were overflowing and Los Angeles refused to end drought restrictions which kept the price of water extremely expensive making more money for the Government.

Last summer we had the coldest summer on record yet this was not reported.

AGW scientists lied about temperatures in the past, got caught, and admitted it.

I wonder what happens when we include fall in those figures, or how many points of data do they ignore to make ridiculous claims.

So believe if you please, but those who blindly believe the government are fools. Yes trust the governmnent that just spent billions if not a trillion dollars on green energy that has failed us in California.

You actually think people making 100's of billions of dollars off AGW will tell the truth.

So, it's not Global?

This has been a warm winter. The wind direction has been from the desert to the ocean. They don't call it global warming. It's the effect of Santa Ana wind. If it were not for wind direction the temperature would be the same as it always is.

This winter Toronto had at least on centimeter of snow on the ground continuously for 99 days. That smashed the previous record of 81 days.

The NCDC has been caught doctoring its data 25 different ways. Their credibility is zero. I live in Florida, and we have not been having an above average winter. It's been quite cold in Florida.

Unless you're in the northern panhandle, that's complete bullshit. I live in Palm Beach County and this has been an EXCEPTIONALLY warm winter. The NCDC is not doctoring its data.

The point is that the cold weather the midwest and northeast have been experiencing is almost precisely offset by warmer areas elsewhere. All this is due to Rossby waves in the jetstream. The average global temperature has not been affected - this is an internal arrangement. And it happens to be due to exceptionally warm weather in the Arctic for the past few decades.

The east coast as "average" huh...... suuuuure it was...

Got something that says different?

Pick a city....ANY city, and this is what you'll get. The idiots that made that statement should have learned a long time ago to never tell a lie that is too easily proven false. They just rely on the fact that idiots won't remember, or bother to check on them. Which one are you?

Arctic cold sets records in eastern United States

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The eastern and central United States were plunged into a deep freeze on Tuesday, with record low temperatures in the wake of a deadly storm expected to moderate in coming days.

The late-winter storm left behind frigid temperatures after pushing freezing rain, sleet and snow from the Mississippi Valley to the Atlantic and Gulf coasts.

This is a joke thread right? Trying to prove global warming by California's winter?

Geeze louise we were colder than the surface temperature of Mars one day. Now that's a freaking record! It's been one hell of a winter.

No, it has not been "exceptionally" warm in Palm Beach this winter.

Weather History for West Palm Beach, FL [Florida] for January

It has not been exceptionally warm in central Florida either. We had more cold days this year than in the last 10 years.
