"Christian Nationalism"/MAGA Is Destroying Christianity In America

Those who claim we were founded as a Christian nation certainly don't act like it.

Hatred toward refugees and immigrants is not a Christian virtue, and it most definitely is not an American virtue.

Cruelty is not a Christian virtue, not is it an American virtue.

Though lying will always be with us in American politics, it is not a virtue, and certainly is not a Christian virtue.

Running a casino is not a Christian virtue.

Sleeping with a porn star with a third wife at home is not a Christian virtue.

Stealing from the elderly at a fake university is not a Christian virtue.

Putting another porn star on stage at a political nominating convention is not a Christian virtue.

Refusing to accept a loss and attempting a coup is as Un-American as it gets.

Trump may or may not be the Antichrist, but his personal record shows he is antichrist-adjacent.

Trump believes his "MAGA Christians" are as stupid as the punters who used to come to his gambling dens.

The end result of all this cruelty and hatred and rank hypocrisy is that the Christian religion is dying in America, just as Alexis de Tocqueville illustrated the downfall of Christianity in Europe two centuries ago. The exact same causes and effects are in play here in America.

If these so-called patriots really wanted to make America great again, they would reject the hordes of evil con men playing on their gullibility and dragging their faith and their country under.

Or...you can ignore all the warning signs and blame someone else for what is happening to your religion. "B-b-b-b-b-but Democrats!"

Blame the trannies. Blame the immigrants. Never look inward because that just might hurt too much.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Church Attendance Has Declined in Most U.S. Religious Groups

Nearly All Faiths Seeing Declines in Regular Attendance

Two decades ago, an average of 42% of U.S. adults attended religious services every week or nearly every week. A decade ago, the figure fell to 38%, and it is currently at 30%. This decline is largely driven by the increase in the percentage of Americans with no religious affiliation -- 9% in 2000-2003 versus 21% in 2021-2023 -- almost all of whom do not attend services regularly.

Still, most religious groups have also seen a decline in regular attendance at religious services over the past two decades.
6Yeah, they're the one's slaughtering blacks and letting the scum of the 3ed world into America.

Sounds like you fully support using the government to push forward Christian values.

Yet lefties are the ones telling us there must be a separation of church and state.

Which is it?

Is abortion a Christian value?

Is starting stupid unnecessary wars a Christian value?

Is allowing human trafficking a Christian value?

Is homosexuality a Christian value?

Is transgenderism a Christian value?

Christian Nationalism is the politicization of a religion.

It's amazing that these people haven't looked around the world, or at the history books, to see how this usually turns out.

But zealots don't do that, since they figure they have all the answers. From God 'n stuff.
People turn away in disgust. And now it's a trend - America is becoming more secular faster than expected.

IF 70%+ of the population when voting wrote there own name or some non politician smart person?
Would gov then be forced too look for more qualified people? instead of party hacks?
What could we do to get the money & the lies out of our government??

What a list of garbage.

1. Don't act like Christians how?
2. No hatred toward illegals, its the same concern & solution Obama had, Obama was the deporter-in-chief.
3. Cruelty how? Like losing 325,000 children into sex trafficking like Biden & Kamala.
4. Lying can be solved with truth, not more wrong talking points. (insurrection, Russia, Russia, Lawfare, etc.)
5. There was no coup, except the one Biden pulled with voter fraud.
6. Religion is not dying dumbass.
7. Here are Kamala's and the democrat's policies that will be rejected:

MSM propaganda networks and hi-tech oligarchs
to the FBI orchestrating cover ups and fake Russian disinformation claims

to their university leftist programming centers

to their CRT propaganda teachings in schools

to their "deep state" hold on the government

to their creeping attacks on family values & religious beliefs

to their lawless prosecutors
to their drug culture

to their "great replacement" operation

to their grip on school boards, calling parents “domestic terrorists”

to their tranny bullshit getting little kids butchered

to their warped views of the US military

to their vicious attacks on parental rights
to their voter fraud networks
to their hatred of religions, calling Catholics “domestic terrorists”
to their war on Christmas
to their hatred of the Founding Fathers
to their fake history and racism
to their drag shows in grade schools
to their late term abortions
To the FBI spying on Catholics
to their hatred of Patriotism, the American flag, and THE 4TH OF JULY
to the Marxists pushing for the US military to use EV vehicles

This is not the first time in America that politicians politicized Christianity for ... questionable reasons.

1. Slavery. And John Brown was not a nice guy on the other side.

2. Genocide of native americans

3. Immigration of irish and eyetalians (and the funny thing is they didn't even like each other much, lol)

4. The FDR admin was a "bit slow" on the holocaust, and even Morgenthau had difficulties, but arguably the zionists used them for political rather than humanitarian ends.

5. And no doubt there are some, though fewer, charlatans on the left who will say our political decisions must meet their religious tests.

HOWEVER, as our society "shakes the dust off our sandals," we are NOT becoming "LESS RELIGIOUS."
We are walking away from those like Maga who want to control what we do in our private lives. But see question 8 of the poll. There's absolutely no difference between the number of self identified religious and those identifying as "none." We do the right thing morally because its the right thing, although evangelicals and protestants tend to think the right thing is doing what they say.

Sounds like a No True Scotsman fallacy to me. As Christianity is commonly practiced in this country, MAGA's rhetoric and agenda is well aligned with it.

Trump isn't destroying Christianity. Christians are.

Void of radical love, Christianity is just another generic authoritarian religion.

I don't see any proof that Christians are any more or less moral than any other religion or non-believers, or those who just believe in a higher power.

Religion only motivates moral behavior when enforced violently, or internalized. Christian nationalism is about the former. And Christianity is faltering because of a lack of the latter....with performative morality being so prevalent.

Though in fairness, there are plenty of woke folks that lean hard into performative morality as well. Its hardly a uniquely Christian problem.

Even in this country, we literally were branding and killing for the sake of political control (though burning to death was blessedly not practiced) people who differed with nationalism.

One of the things Reagan got little credit for was actually believing that humankind is on an arc of developing beliefs that individuals have the right to make their own decisions. Obviously, that arc of humanity is not an even path.

But if calling on the warrior Christ to banish the unworthy fit the progs agenda, they'd ALSO be all for it. But Trump is no conservative.

Many MAGA are turning away from Christianity as taught in the less 'warrior Christ' churches, because Jesus is too woke.

Christianity as a faith has always been a fucking odd ball. They literally just took another faith's book and claimed that it was actually their guy.

It would be like Siddhartha Gautama, a member of the kshatriya caste, who abandoned his wealth and privilege to sit beneath a bodhi tree and achieve enlightenment as the Buddha......espousing a moral code of doing no harm to other people, practicing no violence, and embracing the world as it is, without illusion or self-deception.

And then later, years and years after his death, some 'followers' insisting that Buddha was actually another avatar of Krishna. And all the violent, heinous shit about killing in the name of your god from the Bhagavad Gita and Mahābhārat from Krishna to Arjuna is what Buddha really meant. And using that to justify all sorts of killing in the name of Buddha.

It would be bizarre and nonsensical.

Yet its exactly what Christians did when they tried to fold in Yahweh from the Hebrew Torah as being Jesus. And all the violent shit that Yahweh advocated in slaughtering the gays and slaves being obedient to their masters, and the utter destruction of the enemies of the Israelites being what Jesus 'really meant'. Despite the fact that Jesus' great commandments were love God and love one another. With Jesus preaching radical love and forgiveness.

Christianity's theological contribution was radical love. If that's abandoned, its generic as fuck. And has routinely been used to justify all sorts of evil.

Catholic Chirch membership in the US and the world has risen, not fallen. Those who think Jesus’ perfect church will go away are mistaken.
