That would defeat the original purpose of the school, which was to provide the brightest kids in all of Fairfax County with the most advanced school.
Going school by school, as you suggest, would of course increase the number of blacks as the middle schools in the poor, black area around Rt 1 would send their top 1%, but it would decrease the better scoring Asians elsewhere in the county. And that of course is what the liberals on the TH Board decided to do.
Their intention was to decrease Asians, and they proudly announced their success. So the question remains: is “diversity” the overriding goal, or is “the best in Fairfax County” the goal?
The SCOTUS will decide.
And then the District can flip a big bird to SCOTUS and eliminate the "elite" school, which frankly, I'd be fine with.
Do you know how to fix Public Education in this country? Get rid of the private schools, the parochial Schools, the charter schools, the Magnet schools and make everyone go to the same schools.
Then people like you will start giving a f**k about the public school with the broken windows and outdated textbooks that are shared two to a student.
