Uh oh. Heeeeeeeere come da lawyaz, mane:

By Nolan Feeney, TIME magazine, Colo. Springs, CO—A young girl was thrown about eight feet into the air and another boy was injured after an inflatable “bouncy house” started to blow away in the wind during a lacrosse game in Colorado on Saturday.

Witness Desiree Hunter described watching the structure tumble across the field “like a bag in the wind” in Littleton, Colo., KUSA reports.

The incident marks the second time in the past month that a bounce house has caused injuries after getting picked up by a gust of wind. Two young boys were injured in upstate New York in mid-May when they fell 15 feet out of an inflatable attraction that reached a height of 50 feet in the air.

Local officials said the girl was released on site while the boy, who was trapped in the bounce house as it traveled 200 to 300 feet, was taken into an ambulance. Police do not believe he suffered serious injuries.

Airbound, the company that manufactured the bounce house, did not respond to KUSA’s request for comment.

Similar incidents in the past few year have prompted Jim Barber, a National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials spokesman, to call bounce houses “probably the most dangerous amusement devices they have” in 2011.

As R.Kelly would say: "Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce" — but keep him away from your children when he says that.

Just sayin'.

I worked on these one summer during college on the weekends. Most of these incidents are likely due to the operators not tying or weighing down the "house".

Back in the "good old days," as my Uncle Bert used to refer to his younger years when he was in charge of "The Zipper," he and the rest of his toothless quasi-biker brothers in the traveling carnivals didn't hafta worry when a someone went flying projectile outta the ride and into a nearby dumpster at the country fair: everyone knew he/ she was riding the ride at his/ her own risk.

Thing is, though, back then, we Americans were a bit more mechanically-savvy, more blue-collar-oriented than we are today. So the risks weren't as great back then.

Sadly, I don't think most Americans even know what a stake is today.

They don't have anything to do with food stamps.

It's natures way of saying slip-n-slide, not bounce house.

Yer 10 year old doesn't really need a Disney theme park for his/her birthday, he/she's really not that special, even if you think so.

Or, if you do think so, spend the money and take the kiddies to Disney.

Bounce Houses are more dangerous to Soccer and LaCrosse fields than guns.

When I lived there, this would make the news about twice a month. Best ban those bounce castles. Those fool (us fools) just dont know any better even though we signe those waver things when we rent these things, and its pretty clearly stated we need to secure these when we inflate them because they will blow away in the wind.
