Colt Gun Company May Leave Connecticut, Doesn’t Feel Welcome

The anger and contempt liberals have for other Americans, is simply astounding. Colt should move elsewhere, and take their Tax dollars with them.

They should leave. Business will migrate to where they feel valued. Colt should not only leave, but refuse to sell their products to anyone in that state including law enforcement.

If companies start leaving states that mistreat them, it might catch on and more companies will leave. I want to see the day that Wall Street leaves New York. A lot of financial companies have already left, but it should be all of them. Leave those skyscrapers abandoned hulks fit for rats and derelicts.

Colt should leave it's factory abandoned and disintegrating, just to show Connecticut where such policies lead.

I hope it is to another state, instead of to China or Mexico. When my Mother and me came down from Anchorage and lived in Chino Valley, Arizona one winter. lot of the people in our trailor park made a pretty good living working at Ruger gun Company in nearby Prescott...Lady next door was supporting her four kids and buying her big doublewide, lot of money made making guns....

Americans are buying millions of them now, some 50 million more since President Obama has become President...One thing he has helped greatly is the gun making industy...not to mention the ammo plants in places like Lewistown, Idaho that cannot keep up with demand.

Colt Manufacturing is considering leaving the state of Connecticut after being thrust into the limelight in the national debate over gun control and the Second Amendment.

Dennis Veilleux, president and CEO of Colt, said that the pro-gun control climate that has emerged from the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting has made it difficult to do business in the state of Connecticut, and that the company doesn’t feel welcome despite doing business there for 175 years.

Particularly, proposed legislation by Governor Dannel Malloy has made Colt feel estranged from Connecticut. Such legislation includes a new gun offender registry, an expanded assault weapons ban, ammunition restrictions, and a ban on the purchase of handguns in bulk.

“At some point, if you can’t sell your products … then you can’t run your business,” Veilleux told Fox News. “You need customers to buy your products to stay in business.”

Colt employs roughly 700 workers in Connecticut, and Veilleux wrote in a recent op-ed that he has only considered pulling operations in the state. There are no “definite plans” to do so, he wrote, but if Malloy’s legislation targeting AR-15 rifles goes through, leaving will be a more realistic option, The AR-15 is the centerpiece of Colt’s business.

If Colt does leave, it’s not without options. Several red state governors have approached Veilleux to relocate, envious of the estimated $1.7 billion in annual contribution to Connecticut’s economy.......

For what??......

We are sorry that we make a profit creating a product that is used to kill children

What about the companies that make cars, cribs, plastic bags, toys with small parts and knives? Using your (warped) logic, they should be apologizing too. Those products have killed kids.

How can anyone debate logic like that?

They are all used to assassinate young children by some asshole playing commando

Colt should move to New Hampshire. It's a short relocation and a very pro freedom state. No income tax.

And good luck to them in finding skilled educated people in machining there in jesusland
