Colt stops production of long guns

There is 23 companies making a version of the AR15, with a similar name since Colt's patent ended in 1977. Now Colt's trademark on the name AR15 is still in force, so yes no more AR15's will be sold to the public in the near term. There is also literally dozens of companies making components for the AR15 platform and most of these parts are interchangeable for one manufacture to the other.

There is 10 companies that sell more to the public than Colt.

colt is going to stop because they feel there are too many people out there making AR15's. couple this with their financial issues, they said they are going to focus on military / police weapons, not a consumer rifle.

so - in colts eyes, the AR15 is NOT a police/military weapon the left says it is.

I read it. Sounded like spin to me. Profit is profit regardless of who you sell to.

The Colt AR is far more expensive than the majority of AR manufacturers.
You can still get that quality through several other manufactures as well.
I think with the dwindling market share it makes sense.

And its easier to shoot rounds with a assault rifle, instead of a handgun.

Would a .223 be a good rifle for deer hunting? Lets say you have a 300-400 yard shot.

Large capacity magazines have no place in hunting.
