House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte(R) issued a sub poena for a private deposition to Comey and former AG Loretta Lynch. Not trusting the "selective leaking and distortion" of the outgoing Republican leadership, Comey has refused to appear before a closed-door hearing and will fight it in court. No word from Lynch, as yet.

Don't worry. There will be plenty of investigations, just not the ones right wingers want.

Comey, who has previously rejected the committee's request for him to appear privately before the GOP-led inquiry, reiterated his position soon after the subpoenas became public.
"
Happy Thanksgiving. Got a subpoena from House Republicans. I'm still happy to sit in the light and answer all questions. But I will resist a 'closed door' thing because I've seen enough of their selective leaking and distortion. Let's have a hearing and invite everyone to see," Comey tweeted.

David Kelley, an attorney for Comey, said Thursday that his client will fight the order in court.
"While the authority for congressional subpoenas is broad, it does not cover the right to misuse closed hearings as a political stunt to promote political as opposed to legislative agendas," Kelly said.

Thats really funny, comey was the one doing the selective leaking.

Why are the Repbubs afraid of an open hearing? Why are the GOPers on here not demanding an open hearing so that nothing is hidden?

Put him in prison.
For what?

Just more of the far rightwing "LOCK. HER. UP!" rhetoric.

#LOLGOP #TooFunny #CLASSIC

For what? You don't know?

How about 18 U.S. Code § 4 – Misprision of Felony, 18 U.S. Code § 641 – Public money, property or records, 18 U.S. Code § 1621 – Perjury, roughly 28 counts of which?

Try him, convict him, and lock him up.

Because in an open hearing anything with a confidential or higher security rating cannot be discussed. Comeys afraid of the things he has done that the public doesn’t know about yet.

But Comey is the one asking for an open hearing, it is the Repubs that do not want an open hearing, so it seems that they are the ones that are afraid.

Same reason the FBI and Justice department has refused to turn over the subpoenaed documents to Congress for the last two years.
