I'm sure that many republicans do a lot selfless things for their own family and friends in time of need. What I'm skeptical of, though, is that republicans have compassion for anyone else. I don't think they do. It makes you wonder how selfish they really are. They love their family and friends, but that's part of human nature. True selfless compassion would be compassion for anyone. Republicans don't have that.
I mean, sure, it's reasonable to suggest that anyone who is capable of self-sufficiency should rely on their own, but republicans like to kid themselves into thinking ANYONE who is poor or disadvantaged should only blame themselves. This of course applies to children in poor families that republicans don't at all care about saving even if their own parents won't. The large majority of people on food stamps are either children, veterans, the disabled, or the elderly, but republicans insist on gutting that program 100%. They would rather harp on the laziness of poor parents. It makes them feel good to remind themselves that other people are inferior to them. It's childish, but that's who they are.
So beyond their family and friends (who may possess self-sufficiency regardless), who do republicans care about?
