Conservatives: how much money do you think billionaires are obligated to give...

A free people have unalienable rights among which are life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and property. There is no freedom if others can demand anything of you without your explicit consent.

As government does need some funding to carry out its constitutionally mandated responsibility to secure our rights, we each should be obligated proportionately to share in that NECESSARY cost. And if it is determined that a percentage of income will be the source of funding, then every person earning any income of any type should pay that same percentage. Whether they are billionaires or college kids on a ramen noodle every night budget.

A free society does not reward poor choices or punish success.

Billionaries should be obligated for no larger percentage of their income for ANYTHING than any other American is obligated to contribute.

We can praise the rich who do use their money for the betterment of society or for worthy causes. But they are no more praiseworthy than the person of much more limited means who shares his/her time, talent, and/or property with the less fortunate or for the betterment of all.
