Corona Virus Proves Trump Was Right on Borders and Trade

The despot Trump who put Penis head in charge of virus ??? Bunch of fn morons running this country and most are on the right

And on mother's helpers schedule he has CPAC and then heading to Florida for a fundraiser so you can see he's taking this seriously.

Tell us all Happy-Go-Unlucky, where is SENATOR Sanders? Senator Klobuchar? Senator Warren?

Shouldn't they be in Washington helping to solve this problem, and if not, why not!

No, this is a job for HHS and other agencies which fall under the executive branch like what happens with any other potential pandemic

Wrong! If the House passes ANYTHING, the Senate has to be there to pass it before it gets to the Presidents desk for signing. House and Senate want more money, don't they? Come baaaaaaaaaaaaack Senators!

OK, what bill are they currently not voting on? Name them.

By the way---------->ever hear of ebola? You know, the disease that killed almost everyone who got it in the world?

Do you happen to remember who Obama put in as czar for that problem? His name and former title seems to have eluded me-)

Yes, Ron Klain and he did a great job working behind the scenes and letting the scientists do their job. I believe he was Biden's Chief of staff and before that Gore's.

EDIT: Here is an article that he wrote after the event in case you are interested.

Ex-Ebola Czar Ron Klain: 5 management lessons from the Ebola outbreak

See, I never, ever said he did a good or bad job. And yet, all these threads on how Pence is an idiot, but he is the VP with more power than your guy had.

You can NOT grade the outcome of an effort, until the outcome is determined, can you?

No, this is a job for HHS and other agencies which fall under the executive branch like what happens with any other potential pandemic

Senators do not lead these agencies, what do you want them to do, vote us out of this crisis?

You must not be from the United States ... it's strictly illegal for any executive department to spend money without explicit Congressional approval ... and throughout our entire history, the Supreme Court has always backed up this principle ... Congress and Congress alone holds the nation's purse strings ...

I agree with Whosure ... these senators should be in Washington DC doing their job ...

No, it's not illegal for HHS to spend money in it's own budget or pull from other departments.

There may be a spending bill that will need to be passed but it's not being voted on right now so I'm not sure why we are attempting to push the burdon of fighting this virus to Democratic presidential candidates. I mean, I know why and it's purely political and anyone can see right through this idiotic tactic.

Creating a plan and taking action on it to resolve this crisis is under the responsibility of the executive branch.

Well, Pence does appear to be an idiot but that's beside the point and yes we can grade the actions of the VP whose near term priorities appear to be political (CPAC) and fundraising (going to Florida).

You never know, maybe he'll change his plans.

He could also stop rubbing his nose and then shortly afterward shaking everybody s hands during a press conference about a contagious disease.

From my point of view---------->unless we have an outbreak in this country, I don't expect any of them to be in Washington if they feel they have something else to do. Why should they be?

I mean, I suppose Trump could be in Washington if he decided to shut down all international travel, but we both know that is not going to happen.

As long as things stay status quo, let the people working on it who know what they are doing, keep it up, and keep our SOUND BITE politicians from BOTH party's as far away from their important work as possible.

To prepare for every possibility. You don't wait until a pandemic is in full bloom in your country before doing anything. You also want to help stem outbreaks happening internationally which also helps protect us.

I mean, I suppose Trump could be in Washington if he decided to shut down all international travel, but we both know that is not going to happen.

Some international travel has already been 'shut down'.

As long as things stay status quo, let the people working on it who know what they are doing, keep it up, and keep our SOUND BITE politicians from BOTH party's as far away from their important work as possible.

Things are not 'status quo' right now. We don't even really know how many people in the US have contracted the virus since we've only tested less than 500 people and the symptoms often times mask the flu. So, first thing we should be doing is trying to figure out how many have been infected, it would seem like the common sense thing to do.

This is a good example of a MORON

60 cases in America, no deaths. hly shit it's a pandemic.

It appears to just be starting. We've only test about 500 people while South Korea has tested thousands and the incubation period (which the person may or may not be contagious) might be as high as 3 weeks. This isn't ending, it's only beginning.
I just heard all 60 recovered. no deaths. where would new cases come from? don't you have at least one working cell in your brain? you aren't asking that question? I am.

I understand there is some discretionary spending available to HHS ... but they're not swimming in cash right now ... any and all loose change has been being spent on the Border Wall ...

I'm sorry ... accounting trickery is a piss poor way to fight a possible pandemic ... your apologies for Congress is part of the problem ... you're not robbing Peter to pay Paul, you're robbing little babies to pay deadbeat senators ... you should be ashamed of yourself ...

Then tell your folks in the House to pass a law immediately forcing testing of anyone you wish! Tell the senate to pass it, and then it goes to the Presidents desk, how is that?

Trump doesn't dare do it, or they will call him an emperor, and I am not sure he can FORCE that without a law in congress anyway.

Honestly-------------->what good is congress if they do nothing if they have a disagreement with the executive branch? Congress can do it, and if that is what they want, let them go ahead!
