As an onlooker, it appears some Evangelicals may be the ones who are bothered that others believe something they do not--or believe not important.

In my opinion it is a sin against God--and presents a travesty of God--that one is in danger of hell by not accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. It suggests that God's love and power is limited and that God builds borders and sets traps for the faithful with other religious/spiritual beliefs. In short, it is our blasphemy against God and His Holy Spirit, not blasphemy from those of other faiths.

Evangelicals and their "personal relationship" while understandable, can also initiate a gag reflex. It suggests that an individual and Jesus are buddies. I believe a better description of a relation with Jesus, with God, is a respectful one where the relationship is one of mentor and student, redeemer/forgiver of those slips we make as we journey through life. It also suggests that you see Jesus only as he relates to you personally, instead of being awed and respectful that we are a flock with one shepherd who is looking out for all.

Evangelicals are complete morons when it comes to Christianity those guys are so clueless.

I grew up with a lovely Christian family next door - quite religious - ans they never once attempted to talk me into listening to Jesus. I am still friends with one of the girls. That you would deem them “not Christian” is unbelievable. They went to Sunday mass every week, had Saturday school, didn’t eat meat on Friday, and so forth.

They were Christians. Nice ones.

I like to try to educate the Evangelical Christians as to how annoying they are, but you’re right….won’t do any good.

Several years ago there was a big “What Non-Christians Want Evangelicals to Know,” or something like that, that has people explaining how arrogant and disrespectful the whole thing was. But I guess it didn’t accomplish anything.

Edited to add: I found it! It was actually written by a Christian who researched how non-Christians felt when they were told they were wrong. The end result was: the message they send is “I’m OK - You’re Not” and we wish they would stop.

Remember Jesus teaching us to discern the will of the Father and follow it? With the Father, nothing falls apart. Jesus said he came for the lost and that description fits many of us. I truly love and appreciate that extra hand of God extended to those of us who need it. Jesus led me to the path and Way of the Kingdom of God. Jews may confidently say they did not need this assist, and I believe them. I have yet to meet a Jew (or Muslim) who has insisted I had/have no need for Jesus. I did/do, and I am all the richer for it.

Jews of faith follow the word of God, and follow it closely. Christians who sincerely believe that Jesus is the Word made flesh should be able to see those of other faiths who are following God's Word.

What do you mean by "God's Word"? You cut all that Jesus Himself said about Hell out, because you know better.

By the way, when I was in college, a professor gave me an underserved poor grade (which was a C), and when I questioned it, he screamed at me that I didn’t believe in the Gospels! Hello? I then had a review committee go over the situation, and right in front of the entire committee, he screeched it out in anger again! I tell you this so you understand just how extreme some of these far-right Christians can be when they come up against a Jew.

I dated a Jewish guy for months and months in college, when I was agnostic. He was cheating on his longtime girlfriend (distance relationship), to whom he was almost engaged, with me--and I had no idea.

Now, should I say forever "THOSE DIRTY CHEATING JEWS!!!" Yes? Or should I just say, this guy was a dirtbag and they come in all stripes and flavors?
