How about an example of journalists support of communism simply by saying nothing. Here it is.

Reagan's March 8, 1983 speech to the National Association of Evangelicals in Orlando, Florida is his first recorded use of the phrase "evil empire." Reagan said:
"So in your discussions of the nuclear freeze proposals, I urge you to beware the temptation of pride -- the temptation blithely to declare yourselves above it all and label both sides equally at fault, to ignore the facts of history and the aggressive impulses of an evil empire, to simply call the arms race a giant misunderstanding and thereby remove yourself from the struggle between right and wrong, good and evil."


On April 2nd, Andrey Gromyko spoke, and responded thusly:

I referred to the Chamber's statement that Liberals and Communists are one and the same....but, in truth, Dr. Paul Kengor, in his book "DUPES: How America's Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century,” makes a more astute point:

The progressive left, and the liberal left, while not themselves communists, share many of the same sympathies, such of redistribution of wealth, and worker’s rights, nationalizations of industry, etc, but are not quite as far left as the communists, and would not go to the same lengths as the communists to achieve their goals.
