Damning America With Faint Praise.

If I may return to the theme....America has been let down by the lack of support Americans.....Leftist Americans.....have provided.

How about an example of journalists support of communism simply by saying nothing. Here it is.

Reagan's March 8, 1983 speech to the National Association of Evangelicals in Orlando, Florida is his first recorded use of the phrase "evil empire." Reagan said:
"So in your discussions of the nuclear freeze proposals, I urge you to beware the temptation of pride -- the temptation blithely to declare yourselves above it all and label both sides equally at fault, to ignore the facts of history and the aggressive impulses of an evil empire, to simply call the arms race a giant misunderstanding and thereby remove yourself from the struggle between right and wrong, good and evil."

On April 2nd, Andrey Gromyko spoke, and responded thusly:
''If it were possible to start compiling charts of the amount of evil in the two systems,'' he said, ''I want to assure you that the height of the curve for the United States would be hundreds of times higher than ours.''

WHAT????
They murdered millions...including millions of their own citizens.

And did Leftists argue that point?
Did the NYTimes provide the truth?

Hardly.

On April 4th, the NYTimes headline: "GROMYKO NEWS CONFERENCE: A 'VIRTUOSO PERFORMANCE'... Mr. Gromyko never faltered in a performance that an American diplomat conceded was ''superb.'' GROMYKO NEWS CONFERENCE - A 'VIRTUOSO PERFORMANCE' - NYTimes.com

And so, since the NYTimes accepted the fabrication.....so do so many of the non-thinkers.

This is very true. The "news" media is anything but about the news. They are an extremely collectivist group who are actively working for a single world government. Of that there is no doubt.

Yeah, those darned commies!

Whittaker Chambers wrote in his book "WITNESS" that liberals are/were incapable of ever effectively fighting Communism because they did not see anything in Communism that was antithetical to their own beliefs. In short, Liberals are Communists and Communists are Liberals.

Your post seems to verify the Chambers' thesis.

I referred to the Chamber's statement that Liberals and Communists are one and the same....but, in truth, Dr. Paul Kengor, in his book "DUPES: How America's Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century,” makes a more astute point:

The progressive left, and the liberal left, while not themselves communists, share many of the same sympathies, such of redistribution of wealth, and worker’s rights, nationalizations of industry, etc, but are not quite as far left as the communists, and would not go to the same lengths as the communists to achieve their goals.

This does not mean, though, that the help of these dupes is not necessary in order for the communists to achieve victory. Even at their peak, in the ‘30’s, the Communist Party of the United States never had more than 100 thousand members: so deception of the ‘dupes’ was critical.

The election of Obama by dupes is a case in point. Obama's doppelganger, Bill Ayers, was perfectly willing to kill 25 million American citizens when his gang took over....

Nonsense. You need to read some history, if you think that liberals were weaker on communism.

Wilson fought the Bolsheviks. Harding gave them aid.

Truman executed the Marshall plan, and the Berlin Airlift. These are noteworthy successes, and nobody would be foolish enough to think that Truman wasn't a liberal.

"Communism is based on the belief that man is so weak and inadequate that he is unable to govern himself, and therefore requires the rule of strong masters.
Democracy is based on the conviction that man has the moral and intellectual capacity, as well as the inalienable right, to govern himself with reason and justice.
Communism subjects the individual to arrest without lawful cause, punishment without trial, and forced labor as the chattel of the state. It decrees what information he shall receive, what art he shall produce, what leaders he shall follow, and what thoughts he shall think.
Democracy maintains that government is established for the benefit of the individual, and is charged with the responsibility of protecting the rights of the individual and his freedom in the exercise of his abilities.
Communism maintains that social wrongs can be corrected only by violence.
Democracy has proved that social justice can be achieved through peaceful change. Communism holds that the world is so deeply divided into opposing classes that war is inevitable.
Democracy holds that free nations can settle differences justly and maintain lasting peace"

-- Harry Truman; from Inaugural Address (January 20, 1949)

It is clear that I've read and understand a great deal more history than you....

Case in point: "Wilson fought the Bolsheviks. Harding gave them aid."

Woodrow Wilson, the first Progressive President, didn't prove that he was weak on communism......"if you think that liberals were weaker on communism"....

...he was a racist totalitarian, the model for the Liberals/Progressives/Democrats who followed.

1. At its core, fascism is the view that every element of society must work together in spiritual union toward the same goals at the behest of the state. MODERN LEFTISM AS RECYCLED FASCISM

2. Call it fascism, Nazism, Communism, Progressivism, Liberalism or your choice du jour......the words of the 'Brown Bomber' apply: You can run, but you can't hide.
Progressive John Dewey changed the name 'Socialist' to 'Liberal.'
Did you know that?

3. The first true enterprise of this kind was established in the in the United States under the 20th century’s first fascist dictator: Woodrow Wilson. During WW I, under the Progressive Woodrow Wilson, American was a fascist nation.

a. Had the world’s first modern propaganda ministry

b. Political prisoners by the thousands were harassed, beaten, spied upon and thrown in jail for simply expressing private opinions.

c. The national leader accused foreignemrs and immigrants of injecting treasonous ‘poison’ into the American bloodstream

d. Newspapers and magazines were closed for criticizing the government

e. Almost 100,000 government propaganda agents were sent out to whip up support for the regime and the war

f. College professors imposed loyalty oaths on their colleagues

g. Nearly a quarter million ‘goons’ were given legal authority to beat and intimidate ‘slackers’ and dissenters

h. Leading artists and writers dedicated their work to proselytizing for the government.

Yup.

Abandoning Eastern Europe to the tender mercies of the Stanlinest Soviets was NOT America's finest hour, that's for damned sure.

the fact that the Soviet Armies already occupied those nations might play some role in that decision, though, don't you think, PC??

Of course you don't, because your task here today to is to besmirch the character of one of the USA's finest presidents.

My advise is you might benefit from reading some REAL history.

Yes, Wilson took and excessively hard line on the anarchists and socialists of the time. None of our presidents have been perfect men--even the liberal ones--right up til present day with domestic spying and drones. It seems all the more proof that our government is not divinely guided. It seems impossible to believe that anyone who had an actual grasp on history could be fooled into believing otherwise. Reading this or that book by a Fox News personality just doesn't cut it.
