Debt Ceiling Pool

How long till the GOP agrees to the debt ceiling increase?

  • Total voters
    14
  • Poll closed .
The Dems had control for 2 of the 4 Trump years. The GOP had the other two.

Also, the start of the process is the submission of the budget request by the POTUS. Trump submitted the 4 largest in the history of the country, at least till Biden out did him. Someone that wants to cut spending does not ask for record spending
both parties are guilty, there is no debate on that.

The empirical reality is that roughly 25% of our total national debt incurred over the last 230 years actually occurred during the 4 years of the Trump regime. When Trump was sworn into office in January 2017, the national debt stood at $19.9 trillion. By November 2020, the debt had increased to over $27 trillion. Under Trump, Republicans voted to raise the debt ceiling three times.

Trump promised to pay down the national debt

Refusing to honor debts already incurred, going the deadbeat nation route, only harms the United States.

Limiting future spending is a disparate matter.

Yeah, the conservative country folk would starve and not know what to do without the government. 🙄

I think you have it exactly backwards as to who would survive and who wouldn’t.
Exactly! What would those country folkd do without their farm bill? :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: Fuckin starve. Are you fucking stupid?

The white house refuses to work with republicans over the debt limit... so if the government has to shut down it will be Biden's fault....
You are too gd retarded. Republicans are beholding to the wealthy at all costs, and that's not Biden you shit for brains;

not true, obozo added over 9 trillion, from 11 T to 20.2 T. Obama added more than any president before or after him.

Most of Obama's debt is a direct result of a stimulus after Bush crashed the economy and the inherited debt by Bush.https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2010/jan/29/barack-obama/obama-inherited-deficits-bush-administration/

They'll ignore your post, because it's 100% true.

yeah right, all dem presidents incur debt because of republicans and all republican presidents are responsible for their own debt. your partisan bullshit falls on deaf ears.

If only you have given a shit about the debt under the last POTUS you might have some credibility in this area.

But as it is you have post whining about the debt ceiling during the Obama years and are totally silent on it during the Trump years and now you care again.

Weird
Not raising the debt ceiling is like refusing to pay the credit card bill with no way to return the goods...

The money has been spent this is about paying the bill...

Refuse to negotiate with terrorists, long standing policy..

The stupid one is the one who can't think beyond their own preconceived notions, that would be you.

Its the democrats that have taken over the mantle for the super rich... look who contributes to them... Big tech big pharma big banks big growers wall street Hollywood hospitals and insurance companies...

So, how long will the GOP drag out the Debt Ceiling debate before agreeing to it like we all know they will?
Both the left and the right will agree to a debt ceiling increase using a GDP/Debt size ratio. You claim to be bipartisan. Don't you think that both sides should agree to this?

Because Obama inherited the Bish Crash, the worst financial blow up (that occurred after 7 years of failed GOP policy), since tghe great Depression.

What chance does he have inheriting the Big Bush blow up? Tax Revenue plummeted.
BUT Obama fixed the big Bush mess and stabalized the economy and lowered the annual deficit to only $587B in 2016

Trump then ramped that $587B to $3.1T in 2020. trump had the world record deficit for a 4 year term.

They will agree to it, but the GOP will draw out the drama and pretend to care about spending and debt.

But yes they should since this is only paying our previous commitments.

Well, I do have to admit that at least Democrats are up front and honest about not giving a damn about spending and the debt. What gets me is when lefty posters lie, claiming that Democrats do care about spending and the debt.

Those people are all Democrats? :auiqs.jpg::aargh::laughing0301: Get out of the fucking closet boy.
