Reality has proven them wrong. That minimum wage has been the law in Seattle for a couple years. It's been the law in SeaTac even longer.

It didn't cause entry level jobs to go away. It didn't cause business to shut down. It didn't do anything but cause a better economy.

The reason for that is people have more money in their pocket to spend. Business benefits from it.

It's called one of the most necessary components of capitalism, the free flow of money throughout the economy.

Capitalism needs the free flow of money throughout the economy for capitalism to work properly.

That is business needs a population that actually has money in their pockets to be able to buy the goods and services offered by business.

When most of the money is concentrated in few hands, capitalism stops. Monopolies and oligarchs start.

All 15 dollar an hour minimum wage does is strengthen capitalism and our economy.

Then why not make it $50/hr?

Two questions...1) How did they arrive at the $15/hr figure? To me, $31k/yr to scoop ice cream is ridiculous, particularly in lower cost of living states. 2) If raising the minimum wage strengthens our economy, as you propose, then raising it even higher will strengthen it even more, correct?

I don’t support a nation wide $15 an hour bill however if you want to know the dems motivation behind the policy it is very simple. They want people to be able to make a livable wage and not have to work multiple jobs or work full time and still be in poverty. A healthy free market should show wage increases to keep up with living costs however our system is not very healthy so things are going to start being regulated by the government. This is unfortunate but it’s the truth.

You can always hire people for $5 an hour when you have porous borders.
