Did you know that Congress has already determined, as a matter of law, that the Jan 6 Capitol attack was an insurrection?

I
Has anyone been charged under the 14th amendment? No?
….
The 14th doesn’t require charges in order to declare an insurrectionist ineligible.

None were filed on the Confederates that was used against after the Civil War

OK, so then some would say that what happened on J6 wasn’t an insurrection, just an angry riot that got out of hand, agitated by insiders in the crowd.

Now what?

Since there is no charge required, and since you don’t have to hold anyone accountable to any law or statute, then, insurrection is determined by whatever body wants to disqualify someone. In other words, it’s left up to interpretation.

Ok, then let’s go down that path. Your side can disqualify trump from ballots, and the right can disqualify Biden from there’s.

Now what?

Also, there were charges brought against those who took part in the civil war. Jefferson Davis was charged with treason and at leas 37 indictments were brought against various other people for their part.

Those who were not under indictment were mass pardoned. So, I order for there to be a pardon, that would have to indicate some sort of legal jeopardy was against them, or about to be?

The brownshirts are always rewarded for their allegiance in a fascist regime.....

A major segment of your idiot brigade believes anything that helps them with their confirmation bias. Unlike some on the left I don’t have to be a biologist to define what a woman is have nice night and piss off.
Can you define what a virgin is?
Do you believe it is possible for a true virgin to give birth?

We shall see
We shall. Nobody is going to be happy with whatever happens that day. If the courts manage to uphold Colorado and Maine, then you are probably going to see a lot of states following suit to disqualify Biden. We will have people angry on both sides.

It’s going to be a mess either way.

Should they try they would have zero basis to do that except tit for tat.

That’ll play well next election huh?

They’ll have every basis. Again, clever lawyers can take thing Biden has done, specifically the border and the allegations of bribery and form a case for insurrection out of it. Again, it’s all up to interpretation.

Again, there are many who would say that what trump did was not an actual insurrection. Because we no longer have to prove anything according to the law or the constitution, it’s all basically up to interpretation. So, now we’re at a stalemate, and even if one court does make a decision, it will be appealed.

Enforcing law by interpretation is not a good way to do it..but here we are.

You accept that you may have been wrong or you fuck off and let the courts figure it out.

Insurrection is determined through the evidence presented.

Thanks to the Great Orange Shart.

And the vote was overwhelming: unanimous in the Senate and 406-21 in the House.

The legal finding was part of a bill passed on August 5, 2021 authorizing Congressional Gold Medals for Capitol Police officers who had protected the Capitol during the insurrection.

Public Law 117-32
117th Congress

An Act

To award four congressional gold medals to the United States Capitol
Police and those who protected the U.S. Capitol on January 6,
2021.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. FINDINGS.

The Congress finds the following:
(1) Every day, the United States Capitol Police (``Capitol
Police'') protects the U.S. Capitol, Members of Congress,
congressional staff and institutional staff, journalists, and
the visiting public.
(2) On January 6, 2021, a mob of insurrectionists forced its
way into the U.S. Capitol building and congressional office
buildings and engaged in acts of vandalism, looting, and
violently attacked Capitol Police officers.
(3) The sacrifice of heroes including
Capitol Police Officers Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood,
Metropolitan Police Department Officer Jeffrey Smith, and those
who sustained injuries, and the courage of Capitol Police
Officer Eugene Goodman, exemplify the patriotism and the
commitment of Capitol Police officers, and those of other law
enforcement agencies, to risk their lives in service of our
country.
(4) Up to seven Americans died following this violent
attack, and more than 140 law enforcement officers suffered
physical injuries, including 15 officers who were hospitalized.
(5) The desecration of the U.S. Capitol, which is the temple
of our American Democracy, and the violence targeting Congress
are horrors that will forever stain our Nation's history.
(6) On April 2, 2021
Officer William ``Billy'' Evans was killed while protecting the
North Barricade of the Capitol. Officer Evans was a
distinguished member of the First Responders Unit and an
eighteen-year veteran of the United States Capitol
Police. Also injured in that assault
was Officer Kenneth Shaver. Officer Shaver is a fifteen-year

veteran of the United States Capitol Police.

So yes guys, it has been officially declared an insurrection.

Glad I could help.
Funny how no one was charged with insurrection.

Haha well then that would would be an illegal bill of attainder

Not surprised to see the dems in the congress violating the constitution and you dembots cheering it

That is wholly irrelevant to anything.
Trump wasn’t federally charged with this either but we all know it happened and that there is sufficient evidence to show that Trump engaged in incitement.

Hahaa “we all know” we just never had any evidence to charge him let alone convict him…

Y’all should just get the rope and lynch him…like the good old days when your party’s power was threatened
