Donald Trump feels that loaded weapons should be allowed in elementary schools.

Trump wants guns in classrooms — maybe

On Friday, speaking at the National Rifle Association's annual convention, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee said that he, as president, would do away with all gun-free zones. Schools are, of course, gun-free zones, and Trump had said on a previous occasion, "I will get rid of gun-free zones on schools."

After the NRA speech, Hillary Clinton called Trump out for saying he would allow guns in classrooms, which are rooms that exist in schools.

Donald Trump: ‘I will get rid of gun-free zones on schools’

To clear things up, Trump went on Fox News on Sunday and said this:

"I don't want to have guns in classrooms. Although, in some cases, teachers should have guns in classrooms. … Things that are going on in our schools are unbelievable. You look at some of our schools, unbelievable what's going on. But I'm not advocating guns in classrooms. But remember, in some cases, and a lot of people have made this case, teachers should be able to have guns. Trained teachers should be able to have guns."

How much clearer can the man be? He doesn't want guns in classrooms, Clinton is a liar for saying so, but he does think there should be guns in classrooms, but he's not advocating for them, but he thinks they should be there.

-----------------------------------------

I think it was all a suggestion except when it wasn't. That should clear things up nicely.

Definitely speaking out of both sides of his mouth, no doubt about it. I am sure Hellary has never done that. Oops where did this video come from?

COTUS (Art. I, sec 8, clause 1) authorizes the congress to provide for the "common Defence and general welfare".
Wrong as usual.

It says that Congress can spend tax money on the Common Defence, and on programs that benefit all Americans equally. It is a restriction on Congressional spending, specifically prohibiting spending on special interests. Thanks to illiterate persons such as yourself who have no idea of what "General Welfare" meant in the late 1700s, this is one of the most-violated commands in the Constitution.

See:
General Welfare Clause

If the Congress feels the need to provide guns to someone in every classroom in America, that would be fine.
And quite stupid, of course. But for some reason liberals keep bringing it up again and again, especially after losing a debate on gun rights and the 2nd amendment (such as now).

Why do you liberals want to provide guns to someone in every classroom in America?

And a more logical, no-brainer suggestion has never been made. Sheesh, OF COURSE some teachers should have loaded guns handy, and this fact should be advertised so that every would-be mass shooter or terrorist knows that schools won't be such easy targets anymore.

The Israelis have had armed teachers for years, without problems.

Why do you fear guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens, especially when those guns could enable those citizens to save lives?

Let me tell you: Your brainwashed brain might not be able to handle such common sense and logic as Trump is proposing, but a lot of average Americans heartily agree with Trump that it's high time to start arming our teachers, and also our military personnel at recruiting stations.

Imagine a teacher at the blackboard explaining how to perform long division to the children when the door opens and before she can drop her chalk and pull out her gun she or he is dead on the floor.
And if she was unarmed she would be alive? You need to sober up.

In Oregon armed guards stopped a shooting.

"Troutdale school resource Officers Nick Thompson and Kyle Harris were at Reynolds High School when Tuesday's shooting occurred, Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton said.

"As soon as this happened, they were there in less than a minute," Staton said. "Had they not been there, it could have been a lot worse."

One of the first dispatches to police was at 8:07 am: In the boy's locker room, two shots, one person down.

Troutdale Police Chief Scott Anderson credited the two resource officers -- the first responders -- and two other local officers who formed a tactical team -- for preventing further carnage.

"I believe their quick response saved many of our students' lives," Anderson said. "For that, our community and I thank you."

At least one officer fired gunshots.

And this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a ‘good guy’ with a gun stop a school shooting before it escalated, either. In December, an armed resource officer at Arapahoe High School in Coloradocornered the shooter, at which point he turned the gun on himself. The entire attack lasted only 80 seconds."

Guards….good idea.
Guns in the classroom; bad idea.

Its where liberalism checks out…

Look; if you’re going to call the authorities when there is a threat on campus, it only makes sense to have a trained, dedicated security force on campus—faster response, they will know the lay-out, probably be able to get some “intel” on which kids are perpetual trouble-makers, etc…

Shortening the response time is something that nobody should have an issue with.

I don’ think putting weapons in the classroom is a good idea at all. Once you do, the chance of a kid getting a hold of the weapon is too great to risk.

You do realize that there are already schools all around the country with teachers carrying guns...right?

And when you are a small elementary school with the local police about 20 minutes away...........when most shootings take only minutes.....and cops don't even get the 911 call for about 2 minutes.........

Yeah...do you realize that there are schools across the country that already have armed teachers....?

Whelp --- he just got Adam Lanza's vote.

And Eric Harris'. And Dylan Klebold's. And Carl Roberts'. etc etc etc....

Perhaps one of those guys will shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and he'll get even more votes.
Whatever it takes, there's one born every minute.

Why would he get their vote.....they shot up "GUN FREE" zones......he wants to end those..........try thinking before you post.

When? Trump used to be for restrictions and bans on certain wea.....OH, you mean NOW when he wants people to believe hes a republican?

Well, thats the "Art of the Deal" ;)

Trump was against assault weapons 15 years ago.

Obama was against gay marriage halfway through his first term in office......

Good. When law-abiding adults are allowed their freedom to own and carry, most still won't bother. But a few will. And some nutcase planning a Sandy Hook type massacre, hoping for tons of headlines after he's dead, will know that probably a few people nearby are armed... and he won't know which ones. And he knows he probably won't last beyond his first few shots, and so will only get a mention on Page 4 below the ads for cabbage. So he'll be less likely to pull his little scene in the first place.

How many kids that were killed at Sandy Hook, would still be alive today if Democrats hadn't forbidden all law-abiding citizens to defend the kids in their charge?

All the nut bag has to do is scout out the gun nutters beforehand and take them out first.

How about we cross reference mental health databases with gun ownership and get the guns out of homes with mentally ill people.

Also make it crime to sell a gun without a background check.

Yeah...that sure is working in Chicago, Baltimore and D.C..........

None. But you are free to continue the fantasy that guns in the hands of teachers are a panacea for gun violence in the schools.

Let's do this: The NRA ought to charge a minimum assessment to all of its members of $120.00 per year to select a someone in every classroom in your state who would be willing to be armed on campus (or a parent, custodian, volunteer); provide each with a proper firearm once they have been trained, evaluated by a psychologist and determined to be a sane and sober person.. Then continue this study for five years and see what outcome might transpire.

Or....we could simply end Gun Free Zones for free........and let parents carry their legally owned and carried guns onto school grounds....and then mass shooters would no longer pick schools.....since research shows they actually do pick gun free zones........

We don't have to wait 5 years....there have been schools around the country doing this far longer.....

Do you have any evidence that this oft-debunked fib is true?

But you are free to continue the fantasy that guns in the hands of teachers are a panacea for gun violence in the schools.
Why should I "support" another fib you made up out of whole cloth, that I never said in the first place?

How about if we do this instead: Obey the Constitution.

If the Congress feels the need to provide guns to someone in every classroom in America, that would be fine. Stupid, but authorized under a literally reading of COTUS. Local government and school districts don't have the money to fund the cost of harming teachers.

A law abiding adult is a law abiding adult until he or she commits an illegal act. Is that too abstract a concept for you to comprehend?

It seems to be for you morons.....you keep wanting gun laws to physically stop mass shooters before they shoot.....you want the laws to be psychic too.........

Why do the Israelis have armed teachers?

Muslim terrorists were targeting their schools.

Doesn't work that way....try to do some research moron. the whole point is the shooter does not know who is armed.....they therefore go somewhere else....like the mass shooters who left notes telling us they chose a gun free zone.......

At Sandy Hook they would have heard the screams and the shots that murdered the principal....then they could have locked their door, drawn their pistol and waited for the police.......moron.

So they need them to protect their kids from crazed foreigners.

Whereas the US needs them to protect their kids from crazed Americans...'crazed Christians' if you prefer.

If guns were outlawed...

If the principal knew Jiu Jitsu...

If the teacher was "The Substitute" from the movie...
DODGE! ....Now go ahead and answer WILLHAFTAWAITE'S perfectly valid questions.

Posting a Funny icon Isn't answering the questions. It's just ANOTHER DODGE.
