Ever since the 1989 Iranian death fatwa against author Salman Rushdie over his book The Satanic Verses, there’s been a tendency in the Muslim world toward overreaction to what some perceive as insults to their religion and the Prophet Muhammad. In the eyes of some, a cartoon or a few printed paragraphs justifies mass murder.
Let’s talk about real insults and real attacks on religion.
