Insurrection is both a crime and a description of a violent uprising against the government.

Yes a person accused of a crime has the right to defend themself

DJT was not charged with insurrection. He was impeached for it and he was sued in CO for it because a state can’t prosecute a federal crime

Thank you for your answers, but as you know, he was acquitted of "inciting an insurrection" by the Senate.

So, the CO Supreme Court just prevented Trump for running for office for a make believe crime.

Trump has been denied due process, and the US Supreme Court will overturn.
