Evangelicals, Read White Evangelicals, Are Starting to Change Their Tune on Trump

How do you think the Christians who belong to St John's church feel about Trump visiting them on the steps of their church swaying an upside down bible, for a campaign statement and photo op? of course, after clearing the park of peaceful protesters using military, park police and smoke canisters and pepper gas and rubber bullets.... Is that anything to be proud of Trump for....? At least Obama and Clinton know Christ...visited during service.

Trump on the other hand seems to think He is the Christ.... the savior of you all.... he's the ONLY ONE that can save you.... from everything! :rolleyes-41:  :icon_rolleyes:

I think the parishioners of St. John’s should be more upset about rioters hitting their Church and trying to ignite it. Why??

Trump was making a statement to rioters and looters to stand down. A photo opp, yes, but also a statement.

They have forgiven those, but tramp can't be forgiven as he mocked Christianity.

If you can’t forgive a man for holding up a Bible in front of a Church that was attacked then how Christian are you? Further, what is there to forgive? The Trump haters view the event as mockery but they are not the determinant or final assessor.

Admit it, it was just a photo op.

You are goddamn right it was a photo opp.... a necessary photo opp to symbolize resilience over the evil that is Burning, Looting, and Murdering in throughout our cities under the guise of anti-fascism.

I told you they were forgiven , but tramp can't be forgiven, he mocks and uses Christianity for personal reasons which have nothing to do with Christianity.

Forgiveness is one thing followed on by holding accountable those that attacked you. Further, the people that attacked the Church offer no remorse. I’m telling you.... There is Forgiveness and then Accountability.

And many other things, however I believe it's too late.

They've already tarnished the name of Christians and Christianity beyond recognition.

Here's some evidence...

I'll be posting similar evidence in this thread going forward.

Interested in the thoughts of actual Christians on USMB, I know there's an extremely small amount of us on here.

Why would anything Trump does, tarnish Christianity? He's never been a Christian leader. He has never been a moral leader. No one voted for him, because he was a representative of the church.

In Jeremiah 29:7 it says:
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."

Now keep in mind, that in this passage, this was to the Israelites to pray for the success of a pagan king, that had cruelly enslaved them.

We as Christians are to pray for the success of the nation, and as people who have the right to vote on what we think is best for the nation, we also vote for who we think best represents our views. Trump with all his flaws, better represents Christian views, than any of his opponents.

How is voting for the person who best represents us, somehow a tarnish on anything?

Besides that, when people say that others have tarnished their name, they really mean it was tarnished with people like themselves. But Christianity was always tarnished with people like you. I've known you from before Trump was even running, and you didn't care for Christianity then either. I don't know anyone anywhere who has said "I thought Christianity was fantastic, and then Trump". Where is this person?

So the only 'tarnishing' has been with people who hated us to begin with.

America never was a "Christian nation."
So Obama was a liar? Ok, I agree.
Yes, he was.....he was trying to appease dic suckers like you by telling you shit that makes you feel good -- when in reality, none of his appeasing stopped you from calling him a muslim terrorist and his kids monkeys...because hey, that is what you "Christians" do

Yeah, and there's a reason why more and more people support socialism which has killed hundreds of millions, and continues to kill people in Venezuela to this day.... yawn about that too.

You are right, people are getting dumber, by living faith, and believing in left-wing mythology.

That actually isn't possible. Government by it's nature is socialist. A military can't be funded by a business.

Capitalist save lives. Doctors practice to earn money. That's capitalism. Farmers grow food to make money. That's capitalism. Water companies provide water, to make money. That's Capitalism. Nearly everything that exists, that saves lives, is capitalist in nature.

Killing people by its nature is anti-capitalist. How can you work and earn profit, if you are dead? Who do you sell your products or services to, if your customers are dead?

This is one of the reasons that capitalist hospitals heal and help more people than government run health care systems. When you look at Canada, and you see people waiting 3 years to get surgery, or months on end to get critical diagnostic tests, and wonder why a Dog in Canada can get health care in a matter of hours or days, the reason is simply because there is a profit motive with private health care.

If government is paying for the care, then you are not a valuable customer..... you are simply a problem. If you die, the don't care. They get paid either way. A private hospital loses money on dead patients. Dead people tend to not pay bills. And too many dead people, tends to cause patients to go elsewhere.

But that's not a problem for government run hospitals. Government pays them no matter what hell you go through.

So, no capitalism doesn't kill people. Socialism does.
