The nation needs an accurate, up to date Federal database of voters who are:

  1. US citizens,
  2. Living,
  3. Have a Social Security Number, and
  4. Have a valid address
The information to be on a Blockchain so it’s not left to the discretion of any current Administration.

If a State insists on using an alternate database, they must show valid cause demonstrating their database has greater accuracy otherwise they are violating Equal Protection

Why is this needed in your opinion?

I know of state (Registration Lists) but no national database of voters. 33 states & D.C. are members of ERIC (Electronic Registration Information Center) which:

What are you trying to do like get arrested for inciting a national riot? Just calm down, brown nose the stasi then give 'em a song & dance to the tune of Carl Perkins "Honey Don't"!

It's difficult to imagine that we don't have the technology for something like this. All the information needed is out there, so there would just need to be a way to consolidate and organize it.

Maybe we need to beef up our elections departments, such as the FEC and the states. Are Republicans okay with that spending?

Social Security has everyone who is a citizen, with a voter ID card.

No SS card, no vote.

It wouldn't matter if there was such a thing.

The NaziKarens would have it tampered with and altered to fit their agendas, like they do everything else!!!

It would have to go deeper than that. Residence location, alive or dead, whether they already voted.
That's for the STATE database to determine.
The SS number is to eliminate voter fraud by non-citizens or fictitious voters.
Voter rolls are supposed to be confirmed before elections as to alive or dead, and if they voted.

Point being that we don't need a "new" database that will never be current.

That would be fine, if you want to do that, but then you would need a consistent national eligibility for voting.

Which would mean making it easier for poor people and minorities to vote, not harder. It would mean restoring felon voting rights.

Be careful what you wish for.

I personally would be for a national ID card and database. But it's conservatives who have opposed that for years.

Yeah, what could possibly go wrong with letting the Feds take this over!

Why do you people think the Fed Govt is the answer to every question?

We have had accurate truthful elections for the past 240 plus years without the Feds taking over what is not theirs to control.
Theft of elections have occurred for years. Once the Communists infected the government, they slowly manipulated citizens using their prejudices and gripes to gain more and more power. The Dems are at the Progressive Socialist state enroute to Communism.

To have an accurate, up to date database so that Putin cannot interfere in our elections

And you think the Fed Govt is more capable of doing this for all 250,000,000 plus registered voters in the US than each of the states doing their own?

Really?

Why can’t poor people vote?

How can’t minorities vote?

As I said, if a State can show a valid reason to include someone who is: non-living, moved out of State, fictional name, no address, etc. have at it or do you prefer letting Putin interfere?
