What you say is true; however, in this case it is obvious that both Black and White voters were similarly situated in terms of “mid-term elections” and “poverty area.” A voting block of 67% of the population can easily elect anyone they want … if they have a uniting agenda and care enough to vote. Assuming that both Blacks and Whites care equally about their community, Blacks must have had confidence in those Whites who were elected to public office. It is an insult to Blacks to suggest they cannot vote for the best possible candidate regardless of his/her race.
