Flood: Mesopotamian Archaeological Evidence

really, gee is that coincidental with the first etchings, written languages - and that coincidentally happens to be the time of the heavenly flood. for some reason.

- did gilgor happen across a&e on their journey ... 1 million years earlier. were a&e mentioned by the mesopotamians.

There is, moreover, question of whether memory of an event as early as 3500 BCE could have survived to historic times. The date is too early for a written account to have been made, and the Sumerians do not appear to have had a methodical oral technique that would have long preserved a record of the event. The experiences of other cultures indicate that even the most traumatic events tend to fade from memory after a few generations in the absence of either writing or a highly developed oral procedure, such as formulaic oral poetry.

well, somehow they managed for - ~ 2 million years before the blatant corruption - written text - came to being. and their archeologists of denial.

formulaic oral poetry - the wise owl their impression of the event surly more resembles the truth than anything human.
Sumer had a written language by 3000 BC.

There are villages that have been found on the continental shelf surrounding the Black Sea.

I would hazard a guess that as the technology improves we will find villages all over the world.
How permanent were these 'villages'? Were they rebuilt every year as the people migrated in an annual cycle?

and that's why the heavens timed their flood for the event to be on sumer's front page news report ...

... why in your opinion was there a flood at all - one wonders.

What are you calling the Continental shelf?

by your thread, are you linking the desert flood to sumer, sumer as an independent event - the desert and sumner are the same event ... and, if you will - does the sumer event have an explanation related to what caused their event as entailing the role of the survivor.

or simply, why by your threads implication for the time of the event being ambiguous - are you still relating the event to recorded history - rather than perhaps 100k years earlier and actually 1 million years when all could have been consumed by a single flood.

- do you claim religion did not exist during pre recorded antiquity prior to sumer.

Yes. Two stories. Snowmelt from the Zagros mountains plus heavy spring rains, or the gods were sick of their servants because they kept multiplying and we're noisy.

What are you calling the Continental shelf?

The continental shelf. It lies about 250 feet below the surface of the water now, depending on where you are.

Where is it in the Black Sea?

About 250 feet down. You can see the ancient river systems that fed into the black sea and the villages are there. Dr. Ballard photographed a few of them.

are there rules set by the gods ...

from antiquity there guilt made them think so whether true or not ... nor seemingly has that ever made a difference.

Why don't you post some articles on cancer treatment from 1980 while you're at it?
I don't know if I should be annoyed with you or sympathetic that your mental capacity is so poor.

Geologists know a lot about Iraq and Iran because of oil exploration. There is a flood sediment in the Euphrates river basin.

Why? Because of snowmelt from the Zagross mountains and spring rains.

could that have been 1 million years ago ...

One of the earliest known humans is Homo habilis, or “handy man,” who lived about 2.4 million to 1.4 million years ago in Eastern and Southern Africa.

if recorded by several religions, the heavenly retribution could have occurred in the idealic period humanity would truly have been the soul recipient for even a semi local event in fact more believable ... and not involve other animals, beings.

why not take the desert out of the account you are fixated with and is simply a message to humanity everywhere - as it is.
