Facebook owns the site
They make the rules
If you can’t follow the rules, you get banned
Just like USMB
Thank you hadit! While I enjoy the predictable shrieks of outrage from the usual suspects when their sacred ox is gored, the government cannot legally compel nor prevent speech and this will fail. The same will happen to New York's attempt to both compel a photographer to post speech on her web site and prevent her from posting speech on her web site. Government simply must not be allowed to monkey with speech. This is an overreach.
Why would anyone think that section 230 -- a liability shield that applies to the entire internet -- is really a Stalinist mandate allowing the government to force people to broadcast whatever Theparty demands? That makes no sense. It's just a liability shield.
If you invite someone in, that does not remove your right to ask them to leave when you so choose.
Agree, but I do know who is right wing on the supreme court!that was a bad call on their part,, and you need to learn what right and left is in this country cause thats not rightwingyour right wing supreme court ruled Corporations, are people....and yet you failed to explain why I'm wrong,,Nope. You are.I'm thinking youre a little confused how the 1st A works,,,republicans strike again. Now they are taking first amendment rights from social media.
They are regulating the internet. And violating the first amendment to do it. They are also violating section 230 of the communications decency act.
What happened to their screaming that business owners have the right to decide who they serve or do business with? That was a lie too.
They are showing that their hate for regulations was all a lie. They love regulating business just not in a responsible way.
Their beliefs are of convenience not real beliefs.

Ban Trump? Not so fast. Florida is about to pass a law to stop Facebook and Twitter from censoring politicians
Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is likely to sign into law a bill that would stop Facebook, Twitter and YouTube from censoring politicians such as Donald Trump.www.usatoday.com
the 1st is meant for the people not companies,,
You do if that black person doesn’t abide by a reasonable code of conduct.Kind of like if you open a lunch counter and a black person walks in, you democrats have the "right" to make them leave?
your right wing supreme court ruled Corporations, are people....
NAZIS!!!!!!!
It is exactly the same principle. And this is why libertarians* have traditionally opposed the "protected classes/public accommodations" approach to civil rights. If you invite someone in, that does not remove your right to ask them to leave when you so choose.

Hey, are we going to live by campaign finance laws or not?So many Trump cult First Amendment haters here. They really do all think that the government has the right to force anyone to say whatever TheParty wants them to say.
Stalin would be so proud of the Trump cultists here.
They're "libertarians"! Didn't you get the memo?
Most of them are statist nonsense. Certainly not "libertarian".
FB wants to act like a publisher with the protections of a provider. Fuck that shit.
Just fucking repeal 230 and stop using it as an excuse for heavy handed government mandates.
you may want to defend big corps. but I wont,,You are dumber than dirt. And wrong.and yet you failed to explain why I'm wrong,,Nope. You are.I'm thinking youre a little confused how the 1st A works,,,republicans strike again. Now they are taking first amendment rights from social media.

If the owners of a website are going to become legally liable for what their members post on their board, the owners will heavily censor the content on their sites to not be sued.
If anyone actually believes that the owners of a website are going to take a risk of being sued because of what someone else posts on their website, I've got some beautiful ocean beach front property in Colorado to sell you.
If people think that censorship is bad now, repealing 230 will make it much worse.
It is exactly the same principle. And this is why libertarians* have traditionally opposed the "protected classes/public accommodations" approach to civil rights.
*libertarian - words mean what people mean when they use them. If you think "libertarian" in any way, even remotely, characterizes Trump or his moron throng - then I am NOT a "libertarian".
That is literally the opposite of my point. Congratulations. You're a fucking superstar. I don't know why I bother with you dip shits...you may want to defend big corps. but I wont,,You are dumber than dirt. And wrong.and yet you failed to explain why I'm wrong,,Nope.
