It should not be happening in our first world economy.

and yet we have had poverty in this first world economy for quit a while now.....how do you explain that danny?....are you going to be like dana and blame trump?....

Well, you would certainly think that, since the Democrats have been working on doing away with poverty for 60 years...

They did the right thing. They are trying to save people's lives. Something neither you nor Trump are interested in. If Trump had taken decisive action in April or May, we might be able to partially re-open.

Because charitable-feeding consortia and major municipal food banks and their agency food panties and missions and soup-kitchens, etc., are swamped?

Because SNAP (food stamps) just aren't enough in many cases, especially in large families?

Because SNAP programs are sometimes difficult to qualify for depending on the State you're living in?

Because SNAP can take a while to process and because such needy folk need food NOW?

The latest figures from the CDC state that 94% of the Covid-19 deaths reported had other major health issues (meaning that only 4% of the deaths were solely from Covid-19)...

But the Democrats were adamant about shutting the economy down (and keeping it shut down, in spite of Trump stating that we should start opening it back up)...

With the economy shut down for this long, what the hell did you think would happen???

That means all the deaths were caused by the coronavirus. The coronavirus was the underlying cause of death.

He did, you dumbass. Here in AZ we are just about fully reopened and have been for a long time. Yet our daily case rates keep dropping, as well as deaths. The bedwetters were screaming it was out of control in July, yet here we are with just 500 cases a day.

Not excuses... rather, legitimate reasons as to why food insecurity and the drain on food banks and food donors have climbed through the stratosphere.

Back in the 90s, I was chief system and database developer and networking admin for the headquarters of the nation's leading charitable food distribution NPO.

I have zero sympathy for slackers and lifelong SNAP-TANF bottom-dwellers...

But I understand the data models and underlying factors and can distinguish between 'excuses' and legitimate causation in this far, far better than you can.

During that time frame I visited a large number of large-scale municipality-wide food banks (block-square warehouses, massive docks, etc.)...

Each of those major metro food banks had a portfolio of hundreds of neighborhood mini-food-banks, pantries, shelters, missions, soup-kitchens, etc.

I understand the underlying causes and data-modeling on the local, regional and national level, and how such private-governmental partnerships work...

I am not a Subject Matter Expert on that topic but I understand the material to an extent where I call bull$hit on your labeling of all this as 'excuses'.

If you are retired after years at the US Postal Service, you're probably sitting fat-and-happy with a Gubmint Pension and are entirely safe from all of this...

That may very well have blinded you to the 30,000,000 - 40,000,00 Americans who lost their jobs in the past six months and who are now in Deep $chei$$...

Those staggering numbers have overloaded the SNAP program and stretched large- and small-scale food banks to the Breaking Point and beyond...
