four texas gun-toting "activists" scare fast-food employees into hiding in freezer

Thank goodness! I finally found the libtard, anti-gun anti-common sense anti-second amendment anti-American thread I always knew in my heart existed.

:cuckoo:

So lemme get this straight...
Seeing a weapon is not a justifiable excuse to defend your life -- but everyone should walk around packing to defend their life. And ideally, openly.

Thanks for, uh, clearing that up...
You aren't clear on anything. I said all along I'm not a fan of open carry. But they don't don't frighten me, certainly not to the point of executing someone. That's the left's caricature of a gun owner, not reality. It's irrational since you need a gun to shoot someone, explain that.

So... it's "irrational" to fear somebody wielding a gun, because they need a gun to shoot you.

It just gets clearier and clearier. Yup, never been more clearerer.
I said you were stupid for a reason. And an asshole. ^^^^^^PROOF.

Maybe one of you open carry advocates can explain something

Adam Lanza shows up at school carrying an AR-15 and a backpack full of ammunition. He knocks on the door and explains he has a meeting with the principal. Do you let him in?

James Holmes is dressed like the Joker and is on line in your movie theater. He is carrying an AR-15 and has a backpack full of ammunition. Do you sell him a ticket?

We all know gun free zones are bad and all. It would be bad manners to call the police on a law abiding citizen and people would call you a wuss for overreacting to an armed citizen

What do you do?

Still trying to figure out what life in an open carry world will be like

You take your kids to the movies to see Batman and you see James Holmes sitting there dressed like the Joker. He is holding an AR-15 with a huge magazine and has a backpack at his feet

Do you respect his second amendment rights or do you take your kids out of the theater and ask for your money back?

I now live in an open-carry state. It's just not a big deal! I was pumping gas next to someone with what looked like a 1911 on her belt...nobody even raised an eyebrow.

An open-carry state isn't necessarily the issue, the point of this thread.

It sucks that the farthest of the Far Right have hijacked it with their acerbic slurs of everyone who isn't hiding under sheets with them.

The point of this thread, from its inception, is that the FOUR CLOWNS WHO WALKED INTO A TEXAS JACK IN THE BOX RESTAURANT TOTING ASSAULT WEAPONS DID NOT DO THE NRA ANY FAVORS BY PRETENDING TO BE—OR THINKING THEMSELVES TO BE—PRO-SECOND AMENDMENT ACTIVISTS.

I, too, pump gas alongside folks with their pistols in holsters.

Guns themselves do not scare me. I grew up with them, and they are around me everywhere to this very minute.

But if we're talking about my working in a fast-food joint or convenience store, and four of these losers walk into the building toting weapons made for war and war ALONE, I can say that I would not feel the least bit comfortable in that milieu.

That is the point of this thread.

Have you ever worked in a convenience store or fast-food joint late at night, Jarlaxle???

We can always change Open-Carry laws so that each group of four or more gun-carrying persons must hire a Calm-Your-Fears escort to precede them into any public business establishment and to sprinkle Magic Do-Not-Be-Afraid Fairy Dust over the heads of those with less-than-sturdy nerves...

James Holes was not carrying anything when he bought his ticket, he went out the fire door, propping it open, and came back in with the weapons.

The fact that you feel a need to lie in order to make whatever point you are tying to make shows how sad that point actually is.

That's kind of the point....with open carry, James Holmes has no need to sneak around. He can openly carry his AR-15 into the theater and when someone asks what is in the backpack he can say...500 rounds of extra ammunition

Are you going to take your kid into that movie?

That is not the question......would you enter the theater with an armed to the teeth James Holmes sitting there?

Is it legal to carry a firearm into that particular kind of Public Place?

Secondarily, and independently, out of ignorant curiosity... can a business owner refuse to serve a patron because they are packing?

I realize that you want and/ or like to think that by asking that question, you look like this:

Ain't takin' the bait. Sorry.

Hmmmmm... it may be time for your evening medication... please report back to the nurse's station.

Meanwhile, and directed at others...

Are there restrictions on open-carry, in connection with various types of public establishments?

Can a business owner (restaurant, theater, etc.) legally refuse service to someone who is openly carrying a firearm when entering such establishments?

You can put up a sign which says: "No shirt, no shoes, no service'.

So, and in logical consequence, can you put up a sign which says: "We reserve the right to reserve service to anyone carrying firearms, other than law-enforcement officials"?

I see one problem right away with that, Kondor.

.... who's going to pay for this magic dust? :nono:

The theater was a gun free zone. Even in open carry states businesses can tell people to leave their guns outside.

Want to try again, or would you rather admit you really screwed up?

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha...

I (and/or the post) deserved that one...

Good one...

Funny stuff...

Lets assume a theatre is not a gun free zone. Someone walks in with their gun and a bag full of ammo, are you going to stay and watch the movie?

Windsock is incapable of distinguishing between a hypothesis and reality. I think that's why he makes shit up all the time; he doesn't know the difference.

Either that, or this is his way of deflecting the question so as to avoid addressing it.

Once again you are claiming the mere presence of a firearm is a reason to murder someone. To run in fear. How come you don't do so when ever a cop walks by?

Who says we don't?

But what you have above here -- not an answer, is it?

Define "bag full of ammo".

This from the guy that got his ass handed to him in a debate using actual facts instead of wild accusations.
