Garland, "I am not the president's lawyer"

Those people were usually armed and still an immediate threat. She wasn't.

She wasn't an immediate threat to anyone.
People answering the door to people banging on it in the wee hours of the morning often do arm themselves, it’s a rational thing to do. I thought conservatives defend the right to bear arms? Hell, cops shot an unarmed man pulling up his pants in a hotel hallway. No big deal.

She was violently and illegally breaking into the Capitol. That is more than enough to demonstrate her intent to do harm.

Garland, "I am not the president's lawyer"

Talk is cheap and sometimes leads to perjury.

Actions speak louder than words -
If you are not the President's lawyer, why are you constantly doing his bidding?

Ask what most gun owners think about someone just shooting through a door at perps.

To be arrested, not shot "pour encouragement les autres"

You probably would have supported a "whiff of grapeshot" at the protesters simply because you don't like their politics.

Those officers were not visible or apparently from inside the hallway.

It’s irrelevant to the shooting.
Officers are officers. It all depends on where they are at. Comply...comply...comply...comply...you are free....you are free...you are free...from a basic level is if you are safe compared to others and then your rights are abused from sadists and corrupted who work in the system. And then if complaining you become known and when you need the police, they hold it against you.

She wasn’t shot “through a door”. She was shot while coming through the door.

The difference matters because coming through the door (which was violently destroyed) demonstrates her ill intent and justifies use of force.

Don’t like how the law permits excessive force? You should have thought about that before supporting the political party that had gotten us here. Conservatives love excessive use of force. You just want exceptions for people you align with.

The courts were in the can for not prosecuting the shoot, even if it was a bad shoot.

Deadly force can only be used in the face of a deadly threat, and she wasn't a deadly threat.

Again, "encouragement pour les autres" isn't a deadly force justification under US law.

So next time Anti-fa riots, the local cops can just plink a few of them to encourage the rest to stop what they are doing?
You don't understand. It was a good shoot, she was MAGA. End of discussion. :(

Who would have thought that you could be shot while being a part of a large violent mob breaking into the capitol announcing their intent to harm members of Congress?

You made your opinion crystal clear It was a good shoot, she was MAGA. End of discussion. :(
I don't make the rules. Decades of conservative judicial opinion and court precedent have lowered the bar for use of police force so low that it is almost impossible to not reach it.

Are you proposing we have a different standard for MAGAs?

Your feelings were hurt. :itsok:
I'm embarrassed by what the DOJ has become under this Administration, August. The performance that Garland put on before Congress yesterday was so bad it was unwatchable. Garland seems to think that stating Weiss was appointed by Trump over and over again is the answer to all questions about Weiss's performance. He gave that answer literally dozens of times. We KNOW Trump appointed Weiss but we also know that Weiss was put forward for appointment by two Democrat Senators from Delaware in what is referred to as a "Blue Slip" appointment. If those two liberal Senators don't approve of Weiss then his name would have been taken out of consideration. It's obvious from Weiss's actions that he's NOT an unbiased prosecutor!

Why so defensive? You've made your position crystal clear. MAGA was being violent. MAGA announced their intention to harm member of Congress. She was MAGA, she deserved to die. Good shoot. End of discussion. Garland agreed. You're on the same page.

Look at the videos of the shooting, heavily armed officers IN THAT ROOM were there seconds after she was shot, mingling with the protesters/rioters and none of them were attacked.
And were still outnumbered by a violent, advancing mob.

You know, the one that had already crushed the police line with violence.

Your pathetic whitewash attempt isn't working. Check the scoreboard.

Hanging through a door, unarmed, helpless.

With other cops on the other side of said door in full tactical gear doing nothing to shoot the people surrounding them.

We want appropriate force used on actual criminals, not political opponents.

And they went home at the end of the day. None of them saw the need to shoot.

And the ones just let into the Capitol as well?

And your constant Reichstag fire motif is called out for what it is, Herr Goebbels.

Police officers don't carry crystal balls.

Yes, the sissies who assaulted police when they could get away with it tucked their tails, when it got real.

Like I said, it's all on video.

And if they assaulted police officers, like rioters on both sides have done, they get arrested and punished.

They don't get shot hanging through a broken window while unarmed.
