Gaza Ground Invasion Might Be Both Necessary and Disastrous for Israel

I feel sorry for the citizens of Gasa, not Hamas.

Hamas isn't comprised of citizens of Gaza, nor are they the effective government of Gaza?

HAMAS doesn't negotiate, so why would they take hostages in the first place except to lure Israelis to rescue them? If Egypt opens its border to Gaza the terrorists will escape with the others. How can you vet 2 million refugees?

I would dangle a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in front of each of their faces and tell them they could have it if they tell me where the hostages are. It would totally work against me. LOL.

So far as I can tell, Israel is playing into Hamas' hands still. They need to hit the pause button and think this through. They won't though for at least another week because emotions, not logic, are winning the day.

The operation is sure to be both more powerful and aggressive than any of the three previous offensives launched by the IDF (2012, 2014, and 2021) into Gaza, each of which concluded with the IDF having “mowed the lawn” sufficiently to halt Hamas’ military operations for a considerable period of time.

As far as I know, there are two types of residents of Gaza: Those who actively encourage and participate in the violence against the peace-loving Israelis, and those who raise no objection to it. I don't see one as much more "innocent" that the other.

If you have examples other than those two, please present them. Then explain why Gazans, unlike any other civilian population of any other aggressive state, are to be except from the consequences of their chosen leaders' brutality?

Hamas does not operate as uniformed soldiers(no military uniform whatsoever)....they operate as terrorists in an irregular military fashion. They hide amongst civilians...who assist the soldiers by hiding them so even civilians themselves become unarmed combatants.
And they are subject to the full weight of reprisals for being an enemy combatant.

Nope...no war crimes committed and the lack of forethought by Hamas as to the results of their actions is unforgivable by Israeli standards.
