Georgia mayor arrested for breaking and entering

Oh, he's a “community activist”. Well then, he's okay. LOL

In March, five of the seven members of South Fulton’s city council filed a lawsuit to throw Kamau out of office. The civil rights case was filed in the Fulton County Superior Court and alleges Kamau violated the city charter.
“The mayor has repeatedly betrayed the confidence of the City and the City Council by intentionally and knowingly disclosing confidential information of the City for his and others’ personal benefit since his election to office,” says the filing by council members Carmalitha Gumbs, Corey Reeves, Jaceey Sebastian, Natasha Williams and Helen Willis. “Most recently, it has come plaintiffs’ attention that the mayor has been recording the confidential executive sessions of the City Council — against the expressed wishes of City Council members.”
...Mayor Khalid is described on the city’s website as a “community activist and Southern, Black, Christian Socialist,” and the first Black Lives Matter organizer elected to public office. :auiqs.jpg:

Really? What did he steal?

No one said he stole anything.

Are you really this goofy?

A strange man with bizarre and aggressive behavior breaks into your home- the home owner grabs the phone to call police and arms himself for protection and...

What would you do, pray tell?

Give him milk and cookies and offer him his choice of electronics?

Several have already been posted. Was the guy with the gun a white man? South Fulton is a black city. Why didn't he recognize the mayor?

Most people wouldn't recognize the mayor, even if they knew who he was, if they see him burglarizing a home.

Suppose the homeowner is a honky in a black controlled city, that makes this a crime against a minority and IMHO, a Hate Crime.

Ah, another BLM thug and con artist. No wonder he felt entitled to just invade people's houses.

He's not been charged with breaking and entering.

He's been charged with criminal trespass and first-degree burglary.

He didn't break in. He's charged with burglary. What did he steal?

Looking at the pic of the house from the article, I'm guessing that the mayor legitimately thought the house was vacant or abandoned, and simply tried to get into see what the interior looked like. I'm further guessing the homeowner then panicked at seeing a black man trying to get into the house - am I'm assuming the homeowner is either white, elderly, or both. Furthermore, the mayor's 'don't you know who I am' was probably his attempt to defuse the situation. All in all, I'm seeing this entire event as a big nothing-burger. We'll see how it plays out.

You don't know that.

Yes, he is.

Look up burglary. It's breaking and entering with intent to steal or commit another crime. Not stealing.
