Georgia Senate blocks mega tax cuts for Delta in response to Delta punishing law abiding NRA

Just heard about this. Will find a link. Kudos to the Senators for hitting back at the NRA. Why should gun owners in Georgia who pay taxes have to support Delta financially?

If Delta doesn't want or need the business of 5 million NRA members why do they even need a tax break?

Delta’s tax break may not take flight after Georgia Senate blocks it
The government targeting individuals and/or companies and using taxation a weapon is absolutely wrong.

Why would a conservative tolerate this, regardless of the cause?

Because they put party before country.

The most embarrassing part of this is that frauds that try and pass themselves off as conservatives cheer this sort of government intrusion.

Why?

Because there was a time when conservatives were for small government and wanted the government to stay out of private lives and business. Sadly, that has changed.

Exactly.

Some Conservatives now believe that government should influence private business to support their own ideology.

It was fun though wasn’t it when obummer and his merry band of libtards went after Gibson guitar and Toyota huh? Effen hypocrites.

is it the job of the Georgia Senate to shill for the NRA?
Are you serious? Of course it is their job to shill for the NRA. The majority of the Georgia Senate is bought and paid for by the NRA.

And if any other companies decide to go rogue and change any of their company policies, they better run it by a certain wing of the government first, or they will feel an iron hammer come down on them hard.

The NRA is made up of law-abiding people.

If a Cake Baker can be forced to bake a cake for something that offends his beliefs, it's perfectly copacetic to forbid Big Corporations from discriminating against people that offend their beliefs.

What discrimination? Has Delta refused to serve ANY NRA member? No. It is tantrums about cancelling DISCOUNTS on tickets.

The NRA has an affiliate program similar to the ones that many organization have (AAA, AARP, Alumni Associations). Cancelling theirs for political reasons is discriminatory.

Illegal? Or just what pisses some people off?

NRA shills are funny
Wouldn't want to give more tax breaks to evil corp's ....rrriiighhhttt

If it is discriminatory, then sue or prosecute. The State gov't does not wield tax laws as punishment. That is pure bullshit.

Those that giveth a tax break may take the it away!

Isn't this unfair, maybe illegal, government intrusion? I thought NaziCons were against such stuff.

I doubt it is illegal to NOT give some big corp a special tax cut. State legislatures represent the citizens of the state. I suspect Georgians support this. The only reason Delta was getting the tax break was political favor. Some politicians aren't favoring Delta at the moment.

What makes you "suspect" that?

Delta employs 33,000 people in Georgia. How many NRA members do you think there are?

More or less?

You mean Democrats use government to pressure businesses?

Isn’t that a reason why conservatives don’t like Democrats?
It is Soros, Hillary and other ultra-liberal assholes that are pressuring corporations to abandon the NRA and any support of it. It is ALL political. It is being driven by anti-gun lunatics whose ultimate goal is to abolish the 2nd Amendment and disarm the public so as to make a socialist dictatorship or oligarchy more attainable.

Liberalism is a fucking mental disorder.

is it the job of the Georgia Senate to shill for the NRA?

Is it the job of the Georgia Senate to carve out special tax breaks for certain businesses and not others? I thought you guys hated corporate welfare

It's a tax exemption for jet fuel. It applies to all airlines, not just Delta.

Delta just happens to be the biggest airline in Georgia.

Then why can’t all businesses in Georgia get a tax break on the fuel they use? Why just the airline industry? The playing field needs to be even across-the-board. This is why our tax code is so complicated. Politicians at the federal and state level are always carving out exceptions here for this business and exceptions here for that business

I don't disagree with you, but nevertheless, such tax breaks exist all throughout the country, in every state, for countless different specific things.

When I go to the grocery store, at the bottom of my receipt my total purchase is separated into 3 or more different categories, each with different tax rates.

In New York, there's no sales tax on clothing under $250 - but there is sales tax on a candy bar.

All of these rules exist. Whether or not you approve of them, they're still there.

So, pushing aside your dislike, do you believe they should be used as weapons against political opponents?

The Gulf South is not that big. I've spent a lot of time in Georgia, much more in South Georgia than North. Georgia has a strong hunting culture and is very rural. Gun ownership is high, whether they belong to the NRA or not.

Delta employs 33,000 people in Ga without the special tax break. I doubt they pack up and leave over 40 mil. I bet they get their break this year anyway. I bet everything dies down quickly and it's business as usual in under 10 days.
