However, the Chicago Tribune obtained a Minnesota state death record filed in Olmsted County that says Smith committed suicide in a hotel near the Mayo Clinic at 1:17 p.m. on Sunday, May 14. He was found with a bag over his head with a source of helium attached. A medical examiner's report gives the same account, without specifying the time, and a report from Rochester police further details his suicide.

In the note recovered by police, Smith apologized to authorities and said that "NO FOUL PLAY WHATSOEVER" was involved in his death. He wrote that he was taking his own life because of a "RECENT BAD TURN IN HEALTH SINCE JANUARY, 2017" and timing related "TO LIFE INSURANCE OF $5 MILLION EXPIRING."

Do people usually leave suicide notes indicating there was no foul play involved? Why would anyone conclude there was foul play if it was a suicide.

I tried to post in the original (I think) by Henry Hough to the thread, Another Notch.

My post read:
Yep. Another Clinton notch. They are getting fascinating methods of "suicide" these days. I can just see a panicked man thinking of suicide, and got the paraphanilia to die of asphyxiation with helium! They really should have held to the standard of shooting himself in the back of the head. It has worked so well in the past.

So what's the problem?

Some suicide notes are fake, most, if fake are easy to spot.

And I wonder if he had handcuffs on at the time...

Be careful. You might be next for bringing this up.

Could this be the start of a "Trump Death List"?
No, I give credit to Hillary Saprano for this. She was tired of shooting suicides in the park by shooting someone in the back of the head like Vince Foster. How did he manage to get his hand laying on the back of the head when shooting a bullet in the temple is so much easier?

At least they are getting original now.
Think I'll kill myself..Gotta get me some helium and a plastic bag!

Did the the Russians kill him so he would not be able to give the investigative reporter who had interviewed him 10 days earlier more information on his Trump team and Russian hackers contacts?

This is getting scary....

And to answer your question Avatar....NO ONE LEAVES A NOTE SAYING THERE WAS NO FOUL PLAY INVOLVED!

Wow, another convenient suicide near the Clintons! Imagine that. Old habits are hard to break. That puts the total up near 100 now!

Full of shit? Look it up, I listed many of the more famous cases right HERE:

If the Russians did it, there would be no note, no body, no evidence. They're smarter than that & wouldn't bother trying to cover it up, they'd rather 'make it disappear'.

But wouldn't that be the case with anyone who murdered him? Why only the Russians?

WHY in the world would Peter Smith, at 81 write a suicide note saying no one killed him?
