GOP outlaws consumer class action suits against financial institutions.

Senate Votes to Repeal Financial Class Action Rule

Wall Street wins.

You lose.

This is what the GOP calls "draining the swamp"

Apparently, the business of the federal government is to protect Wells Fargo from evil consumers.

The 50 Republican Senators and the VP who voted to break the tie each voted for their constituency. No one with any sense believes the Republican Party seeks to protect We the People. Their jobs depend on bribes, the financial support and other perks provided by Corporate Lobbies.

Isn't it funny how it's the commiecrats that get the highly paid wall street speeches and big donations? Me thinks I'm seeing a bit of projection here.

.

Youthinks? There is no evidence to suggest that is true.

...and yet, not one single democrat in the senate voted for this bill.

I suspect that you are not the brightest bulb on the tree.

Of course the commiecrats wouldn't vote for it, it's another portion of your dear leaders legacy that's biting the dust, they've been catering to plaintiffs attorneys for decades.

Lawyers and law firms have given more money to House and Senate candidates and party committees than any other industry, with an overwhelming majority going to Democrats.

Trial lawyer industry tries to buy a Democratic majority

They seem to be playing both sides of the fence.

.

Damn! straying off topic seems to be epidemic on your side of the aisle!

Have people lost the ability to comprehend what they read? There is no outlawing of class action lawsuits, all this did was allow institutions to put wording in their contracts that tie the person to arbitration vice a class action suit. If people do not like that idea, then they can have the contracts changed.

Here, let me help you guys out. "Suing the banks with class action suits is bad because it hurts the poor who will have to pay more for a loan as a result, because such suits interfere with the "free Market", which works best when corporations are not held accountable for illegal acts."

You're the one that brought up the commiecrats not voting for this bill, I pointed out why. Don't bring things up that you don't want to discuss.

And then higher prices to the consumers who have to pay for the class action lawsuit. No more phishing bullshit. Win, win, for the US citizen.

That would be a great argument to stop requiring automakers from issuing safety recalls! My brother's Pinto would light up like a zippo lighter if hit in the rear, but, by god, it was cheap!
Strawman as usual... Why would McDonalds have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to a stupid bitch who put her HOT coffee between her legs then get in an accident that burned her legs? Phishing...

good point. Let's make suing McDonald's illegal, too. Then, when they poison people, they can take them to arbitration....if they live.
Do you think that McDonalds would do good business if they poisoned people? What fucking drugs are you on? Oh yeah, Obamacare big pharma.... Bwaaaaahaaaaahhhhaaaaa...

Do you even watch the news? Chipotle is still in business after several e-coli outbreaks. Why haven't the feds protect them from evil consumers, too?
You do realize that Chipotle is a GMO free company? When you don't use certain methods to prevent diseases from getting into the food there is a chance bad things can happen? Why are you attacking an Organic food company? Don't you believe in organic?

Right! When I get apply for a credit card at Wells Fargo, I will simply insist they they rewrite the contract on my terms!

Oh and by the way, the stock of Chipotle was around 700 dollars before the diseases started showing up, today, the punishment of the company for using Organic that stock is now down under 300. And still going down.. Fuck the lawyers, let the free market decide who wins and who loses.

While you are at it, better go get a little more education and brush up on your English, it is deplorable.

And, I would love to discuss organic food, Hillary, Obama, and unicorns and rainbows with you, but I don't have the inclination or time, today.

Most class action suits result in a coupon for a free slurpee for the plaintiffs, and a new yacht for the trial lawyers.

...and a huge payout by the corporation that lost....

So money gets transferred from the 1% you don't like, to the 1% you do like....

great....

If that discourages corporations from illegally ripping me off, yeah, i can live with that.

Your hatred of (some) people with more than you doesn't justify allowing BS lawsuits that only enrich trial lawyers, and by proxy, the DNC.

How do corporations illegally rip you off?

I guess that we will never know in the future, since the republicans have made it illegal for us to bring class action suits, but in the recent past, Wells Fargo has illegally opened hundreds of thousands of credit accounts of unaware consumers, damaging the credit of hundreds of thousands of people, for which WF were fined millions of dollars.

Is your memory that short?

You just pointed out they were fined for it, and some people may actually be prosecuted. What is the point of allowing a pile on class action suit than to make some democratic trial lawyer rich?

And besides, in some States their laws cover suits against banks, so calling this making them "illegal" is quite frankly a bit of a stretch.

But you have an axe to grind, so honesty goes out the window with people like you. Kind of like ambulance chasing trial lawyers.

They will still be held accountable, they just can't be dog-piled by some slimy trial lawyer using class-action statues.

Would you like to ask VW, or maybe Enron?

Enron was a major donor to the Bill Clinton Campaign
Enron and the Clinton Administration: Ties That Bind
Enron Corporation saw the opportunity to exploit the newly minted Clinton administration even before Clinton was sworn into office, and saw 1992 campaign issues including investment tax credits and restrictions on carbon dioxide as beneficial to the company.

According to the November 1992 edition of the Enron corporate newsletter, 'To The Point,' the company looked forward to dealing with the upcoming Clinton administration.

Obama was in office when it was found out that VW was cheating the diesel emissions testing, why didn't Obama punish VW like they did with BP(which the interior Department passed that oil rig)? Germany is socialist, while Britain is not... What a tangle web is woven.....
