GOP Readies Cuts to Federal Workforce Under Trump

How about cutting back on Congressional perks and life long benefits? Along with their staff..
Which perks?

They don't get many life long benefits
  • Free airport parking. ...
  • A free, on-site gym for House members. ...
  • Weakened insider trading restrictions. ...
  • Up to 239 days off. ...
  • Congress receives health-care subsidies under Obamacare.

You are butthurt over airport parking?
Congress had to give up Federal Employees Health Benefits in which their employer paid half....just like any other Govt employee
When they were forced to switch to Obamacare, they received the same employer contribution

In Congresses off days, they get to go back to their home district where they have an office, meet with their constituents and handle business at home....

Not exactly time on the golf course

Automatic raises...Full year salary if death occurs.

They don't get automatic raises and any wage increase does not take effect until they are re-elected

Congress has not had a pay raise in eight years

Good. The Fed should be as small as possible. There are billions of dollars absolutely pissed away every year.

As the USA shrinks its military, the Russians and the Chinese will continue expanding their own.

This makes Russia the European superpower and China remains the Asian superpower.

That's actually fine with me.

The Fed's should get out of the welfare business, the education business, the housing business, the agriculture business, and the energy regulation business. Those are all things that the States can do better.

As the Fed closes down things they don't need to be doing, then Fed taxes can come down.

Even the rich will be happier then because they always love more tax cuts for the rich and Trump has promised them those.
Our military has not shrunk ...we are still larger than the next ten countries combined. Russia and China combined are not close to our military

But spending is down; the force is smaller than when Obama took office and its equipment is aging.

Silly far left drone!

Yeah . As part of sequestration everyone in gov had a cut .

Military can't take a 2% hit ? How many examples of pentagon waste do we need to start threads about ?

YEs we know that the fart left only wants to cut the military and nothing else!

Military spending is one of a few constitutional spending Congress does!

Silly far left drone!
You're racist

That is not what you said. You said it has not shrunk, period. It has.
And-
U.S Air Force struggles with aging fleet

It hasn't shrunk? You can't be serious. Lol

Show me where our military strength compared to adversaries has shrunk

Hardly a windfall

No lifetime cap. Payments forever. More than SSI and after 83' they in that too! Family medical for life, on and on. Huge staff, travel. Perks up wazoo!

A member of Congress retiring with 20 years of service under FERS and a high three-year average salary of $174,000 would get an initial annual FERS pension of $59,160.

A member of Congress retiring with five years' service under CSRS and 25 years under FERS at the same salary level would get an initial annual pension of $89,610.

A member of Congress retiring with 30 years of service under the CSRS offset plan would get an initial annual benefit of $130,500. However, at age 62 or older, this amount would be reduced by the amount received from Social Security attributable to federal service.
