"Gun Appreciation Day" Didn't Work Out So Well,..

Where oh where in your link does it claim the bolded?

Oh, that's right, no where! oopsie

"this is my weapon, this is my gun, this one's for shooting, this one's for fun"

Are you saying those who were shot, were shot with their_____?

It soothes my heart to see you so happy when people are shot.

Were you this happy when ___________were shot?

The far right gun nuts thought a "gun appreciation day" would be a good idea to "stick it to Obama and da libs" though it backfired on them big time, literally.

Six different people were shot during the right winger's gun spank fest.

Keep it going GOP! 2014 keeps looking better and better!

"Gun activists designated last Saturday “Gun Appreciation Day” in an attempt to highlight their opposition to gun safety laws.

How many times will a wingnut mention Chicago as if the rest of us give a fuck?

jesus some of you are so lame it gives gimps a thrill

Guns were illegal, here in Chicago, for many years.
Didn't work.
Shocking, I know.
Assclown.

Today's liberals are convinced that THIS TIME...socialism will work. They pay no attention to and therefore learn NOTHING from history!

Why place the race card?

This thread that yet another half dozen Americans lost their lives due to gun deaths that would not occur in any other developed nation on earth.

What does it matter what colour they were?

I want to know why someone who claims to be black is supportive of the racist agenda of gun control. People should know the history of what they support, wouldn't you agree?

You really don't have a clue do you?. You didn't know the first form of gun control was directed at blacks?

Can you describe that incident you're referring to please?

Expound if you will.

Thanks.

CHICAGO – At least five people were gunned down Saturday in Chicago, including a 34-year-old man whose mother had already lost her three other children to shootings.

Good thing that Illinois and the city of Chicago have such stringent gun control laws.

"Gun activists designated last Saturday “Gun Appreciation Day” in an attempt to highlight their opposition to gun safety laws. The PR stunt proved to be more of an embarrassment, however, when 5 people were shot at 3 different gun shows on Gun Appreciation Day.
On Friday afternoon, an Iowa gun dealer closed out the week by becoming the sixth person shot at a gun show. The man claims he was “showing off a .25 caliber pistol he thought was unloaded when he slid the action of the gun.” The gun was not unloaded, and a bullet went through his left palm."

"Closed out the week?" It sounds like the incident didn't actually happen on Jan 19. Apparently what the libs are doing is taking any gun incident that occurred all last week and attributing it to "gun appreciation day." That's typical for libs. It's called "lying."

True or false...

In the US, a mass shooting occurs every 5.9 days.

In the US, 87 people die every day of gun shot wounds.

Americans are twenty times more likely to be killed with a gun than a citizen of any other major developed nation.

That may very well be true in cities like Chicago, Detroit, New York, or any other city that has strict gun control laws.

Chart: The U.S. has far more gun-related killings than any other developed country

No, all of those stats are true of the entire US.

As you can see from the chart I just posted - countries with strict gun control laws have much, much better records on homicide than the US does.

The term "mass shooting" is obviously defined so loosely that almost anything applies. I seriously doubt that.

In the US, 87 people die every day of gun shot wounds.

I fact that is totally meaningless in the absence of any other relevant criteria.

Americans are twenty times more likely to be killed with a gun than a citizen of any other major developed nation.

With the qualifier "any other major developed nation," you've already narrowed down the list to the point where its totally meaningless. Furthermore, the only statistic that matters is your likelihood of being killed, not whether a gun is used. Also, it's ridiculous to include deliberately shooting yourself in the category of "being killed." 2/3 of all gun deaths in U.S. are suicides.

Yeah, that's the catch. It doesn't give a break-down of the individual cities. It lumps all the cities together. I guarantee the ones with the strictest gun control will have a higher rate of gun violence. That's what you need to look at.
