Lawmaker Calls Clarence Thomas ?Uncle Thomas? -- Daily Intelligencer

Minnesota state representative Ryan Winkler, a white Democrat, did not have the world's most well-thought-out response to the Supreme Court's 5–4 ruling against a key provision of the Voting Rights Act today. As you can see in the tweet above, he referred to Clarence Thomas, who voted with the majority, as "Uncle Thomas." Uncle Tom is a derogatory term used to describe "a black who is overeager to win the approval of whites (as by obsequious behavior or uncritical acceptance of white values and goals)," which is exactly how it's being used here by Winkler.
Winkler deleted the tweet and apologized, but also claims, dubiously, he didn't realize "Uncle Tom" had "racist" connotations.

It's not that our liberal friends are ignorant....

Oh wait, yes they are.

These people have double standards. Clarence Thomas is one of the few blacks that are sane within power in this country.

I don't think that he should have gone in that direction, it only cheapens his position and argument.

So I assume they consider Obama as their house boy, and everyone else from the opposite side of the isle as Uncle Tom? Super, great, at least we now know what their true beliefs are. We need to ask ourselves how can such hypocrisy exist, furthermore, why these progressive liberal shits make these statements, and still maintain that they are above this racism? What puzzles me the most is how Americans can continually vote for this crap and the media sit still for this. Can you imagine if a member of the GOP called Obama "boy" what a media storm would erupt?

Racist statements from Dems, even white ones, are okay. But look out for the shit storm if a GOPer does it.

If Rand Paul say, had called a black leader an Uncle Tom, the media would be screaming for his head. But this dem gets a free ride.
