It was $2.6 to 2.97 for most of Trumps term. But if you'll take a closer look at that timeline, you'll see the boom and bust cycles. And realize it doesn't matter who the president is when they go through those cycles.

The difference is the massive layoffs the US oil companies pushed 7 months before the election. This was before Biden was even the DNC's nominee. This initiated the bust cycle that helped to bring the $4 per gallon gas prices.
Reduced production always increases prices. ALWAYS.

Trump pumped $8 trillion into the economy in just 4 years. You don't think that didn't cause high inflation? FFS, Obama spent $8 trillion in 8 years, and it increased inflation. Doing it in 4 years helped to create massive inflation.

There's no way around it. And "we the people" get stuck with not only the bill and the interest, but also the adverse affects (inflation).
