Apparently you have forgotten all of the state laws and constitutional amendment that prohibited same sex marriage.

While that has been remedied , it is currenlt the absence of certain legislation that diminishes their legal rights. There is no nation wide legal protection in employment, housing, public accomodations and financial matters. And don't give me any shit about how that shows that they want to be special. They just want what everyone else has and they would if it were not for the bigots. It is the bigots that make such legislation necessary.
