Harris, our Boarder Czar allowed Hundreds of Thousands of Migrants into the Country

It is not reported that way. Legality is not determined at the border. Those that cross the border without proper documentation are reported as encounters.

The number of encounters peaked Dec 2023 at 248,741 and have plummeted to 58,038 in May 2024. Don't have the latest figures but they will be nearly half of that now.

It is not reported that way. Legality is not determined at the border. Those that cross the border without proper documentation are reported as encounters.

And those who come to the port of entry or are flown in directly are not reported as encounters but are still adding to the burden of the +12 million illegals already let in under Biden/Harris.

Are 20,000 new Haitians less of a burden if they weren't "encounters"?

The Customs and Border Protection Agents and the Immigration Agents are going to follow procedure and the law. They're certainly not going to deny cases because they are flooded with applicants. If the applicant answers the questions correctly and is consistent and the background investigation supports the claim then the agents has to past the applicant on to the next phase, immigration court.

The Customs and Border Protection Agents and the Immigration Agents are going to follow procedure and the law.

They certainly did that before Biden turned them into escorts into the interior.

They're certainly not going to deny cases because they are flooded with applicants.

I don't want them to deny cases, I want them to reject the fake claims at the border.
Immediately.

That's the media talking point clean up line to take the heat off her. But the fact is she was put in charge of working to stop the invasion and she didn't even try to do the job she agreed to do.

And the invasion is a lot more than hundreds of thousands. It is tens of millions.

Harris was tasked with a diplomatic mission to work with Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. The goal was to help those countries strengthen their economies and security situations so their citizens could build "successful lives at home rather than abroad." She was able secure 5 billion dollars from sources to use in these countries to create jobs. She never had any responsibility for border security and she never even visited the border.

If there was a Border Czar it was Alejandro Nicolas Mayorkas, Director of Homeloand Security. He was responsible border security and House thought was doing rotten job. So they investigated him and tried impeach him. Nowhere in there "in depth" investigation, was Harris ever mention. It was not until she became heir apparent to the nomination that republicans settled her

That would solve the problem if that were possible. However a Customs and Protection Agent in a preliminary interview at the border will ask the applicant questions to determine if their claim meets the requirements of law. The agent is not equipped to investigate the claim, determine the truth, nor examine evidence. That is the job of an asylum agent and the courts.

The person is asked in several different ways why they are claiming asylum. The answers must show that the claim meets the requirement of the law, that is:
  • the applicant suffers persecution or has a well-founded fear of future persecution in their home country.
  • The persecution must be based on one of the following "protected grounds": race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
  • Lastly, the applicant must claim that they have evidence to support the claim.
If in this brief preliminary interview, if the applicant does not include in their statements, their fear of persecution, at least one of the protected grounds for that fear, and state that they can produce evidence to support their claim, then it will be rejected and they will be rapidly deported. If applicant believes he is being treated unfairly, he has the right to ask for a second preliminary interview. About 25% of the applicants fail the primary interview and are deported.

Those that pass the preliminary interview will move on to secondary interviews and investigation of the claim and the evidence. About 25% of applicants will fail in this phase. If the applicant passes this phase they are given a court day and either detained or release with a temporary resident permit.

The permanent solution is legislation to change the law and/or increase the number of immigration judges, asylum officers, and court employees. Actions of the president such as those both Trump and Biden took to stop or limit asylum are temporary emergency measures which the courts will overturn because they violates federal law.

Again that is the new narrative. It was not the understanding everybody had at the time. Which is why Harris, after many questions from Democrat interviewers, agreed to go to El Paso as she had never visited the border. Even then it was a rush trip and at a time when that area was quiet. She did not visit a single migrant port of entry or holding facility that was overwhelmed.

And she made no further trips to Central or South America after that initial very brief trip either. And you don't read all the things she was or is recommending to encourage people not to come north either in their home countries or here.

The woman did not do her job.

Yes, biden placed her in charge of the border. Four alarm gaslight alert by OP*

Some of you may need a new filter. Its getting deep.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden has tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the White House effort to tackle the migration challenge at the U.S. southern border and work with Central American nations to address root causes of the problem.

Right. Have the court reject the fake claim at the border in 5 minutes.

Right, if they can't produce their evidence in 5 minutes, the claim is rejected.

We need to change the law so that we can more easily reject the fake claims at the border.

When we reject the fake claims at the border, this will free up the resources that are currently wasted to transport the illegal aliens across the country.
So, when we have court hearings at the border.

In courtrooms that do not exist. Held by judges that do not exist.

Okay.

So, never. How convenient for the talking points.

Zoom calls work very well.

When word very quickly gets out that saying "asylum" doesn't instantly get
you 7 years or more to live in the US before your court date, the flood will slow.

They have a very loose definition of the term "bipartisan". Harris has also pledged to appoint some Republicans to her administration. I guess Liz Cheney will have a job after all.
Liz Cheney has turned her back on the Republican Party but she remains a strong conservative. She believes the party has abandoned it's conservative foundation in favor of Trumpism. If Trump loses this election at his age, he will be yesterdays political news. I think she and a number of other solid conservatives are waiting to see what happens when Trump is out of the picture. Will the Trumpeters find a new demigod to support or will they put their faith in the party and it's conservative foundation. Like the next election, I think it could go either way.

The flood has already slowed In August 2024, the US Border Patrol recorded 58,038 encounters with migrants crossing the border, a 77% decrease from the record high of 249,741 in December 2023. We are seeing the fewest migrant arrivals in four years.

However, don't expect this to last. Emergency actions taking by the Biden administration to limit asylum applications and requiring a scheduled asylum interview before crossing the boarder clearly violates the asylum law. With slowing of the flood, the courts will act soon to overturn Biden's executive orders. This year Mexico has finally given in to US pressure and cracked down on migration through their southern boarder. This too will not last. The government's action is not popular in Mexico and will end by the end of this year.

To summarize we can not solve the problem with emergency presidential actions. We have to either greatly increase the number of immigration courts so asylum applications can be processed in weeks not years and/or we're going to have to change the asylum law to put on some limits.

Liz Cheney is and always will be a traitor, no matter what happens to Trump. The fact is REPUBLICAN Voters voted for Trump, overwhelmingly, because the voters themselves are nationalists/populists. If Trump disappears, how the voters think is not going to change. Liz Cheney's old party is gone and it has absolutely nothing to do with Trump. Trump is the product of the voters. The voters are not the product of Trump.

Fewer encounters don't automatically mean fewer arrivals.

Emergency actions taking by the Biden administration to limit asylum applications and requiring a scheduled asylum interview before crossing the boarder clearly violates the asylum law.

If he's flying them directly in or letting them use the App to enter at the ports of entry, they'll still be getting a hearing on their fake asylum claims sometime in the next decade.

I agree, we need to reject the fake claims on the same day.

or we're going to have to change the asylum law to put on some limits.

Yes, we need to limit the claims. Anyone who applies here, instead of the nearest safe country needs to be automatically rejected.

After that, I think 1,000 a year is a nice round number.

Let the rest of the world carry the load for a few decades.
