I guess Obama is breaking, again, his promise not to raise taxes on households with less than $250,000 annual income.
When has he kept ANY promise?

thus why amazon quit selling into every state.
When will folks realize that our country has a revenue problem, and not a reckless spending problem........lol
Punishing Internet Retailers and Taxpayers is the wrong answer. Doing better by way of competition is the right answer. This Tax Bill simply wrong. Period, end of story.
And just how do you suggest a real retailer compete with a digital one? Keeping in mind that a real business has tons of overhead that one in cyberspace doesnt. A real business must pay taxes when cyber ones don't. And many cyber businesses don't even have inventory they ship directly from the manufacturer (shill businesses if you will)
Come on wise one explain that to me.
What the fuck does this have to do with internet tax?Oh, one other item...
I need to wear compression stockings. One store in town carries them. I bought from them for over a year. $45.00 plus tax on each pair. They only last about two months before they are no longer compressing my legs like I need. I was spending $135.00 plus tax every other month.
Two months ago I found them on-line for $17.50 a pair.
Guess what, I ordered three pair that day and the next month I ordered three more pair.
I got six months worth of stockings for what I was paying for three months worth before.
If anyone would say they would do differently, I will call them a liar to their face.
As I said, the stupid is strong in this thread. If a state wants to collect tax on internet orders being shipped in from other states they can set up a customs station at their borders and incur the cost within their state. The Governments of one state have no right to compel residents of another state to act as their tax collectors.

FFS, this thread reeks of wingnut stupidity.
Then you read it wrong. Amazon has fought this every time it comes up. They stopped selling to the few states that started collecting tax (i.e., states which have an Amazon shipping facility).thus why amazon quit selling into every state.
From what I read today, Amazon is one company that is fighting FOR this legislation. I'm about ready to boycott their ass.
Rush through? What's the matter with you? Rush through. Please.
This has been way overdue, and 74 Senators voted for it.
The scofflaws who have been skipping out on paying their fair share will eventually be brought to heel.

It has to do with people like Grampa complaining that he is losing business because of the Internet.
That pharmacy lost a lot of my money because I found I could get the same product for half price on-line.
Now that I have explained it to you, don't you feel kind of foolish?

Well, that's fucking obvious.
You don't have a clue what you're talking about.Yet another job-killing, business-killing, bullshit piece of legislation brought to you by the current regime.
Internet business have an unfair advantage, especially on large purchases. Just ask Guitar Center. Someone buying a $3,000 mixing board that they have already researched and know that they want is faced with a choice of paying an extra $210 to buy it locally (based on a 7% sales tax).
Only those totally skittish about buying online would take that choice. So that ends up costing your community - schools/fire/police/roads, etc. - and only enriches the Jeff Bezos of the world.
I could sell you one but I bet you would buy it off the net anyhow to avoid the taxes
Hell, I'd buy it off the net to avoid that $10,000 markup!
WTF are you talking about? You think they ordered a copper tub and didnt buy any other updates for the SAME ROOM???
Copper tub
2 copper sinks
High end fixtures for all those plus the shower.
Get it?
Geez
No, I actually pay attention to news, and shit.It has to do with people like Grampa complaining that he is losing business because of the Internet.

Experience?
Explain how it's theft. Why do you people applaud theft? I don't get it.
Well, that's fucking obvious.
So you applaud theft also?
