Here’s a sob story about a college%educated professional who can’t support his four kids without the enchanted government child support

CTC starts phasing out at $150k. If he is near that spot, then this is a tax credit, and little if any is refunded.

Finally conservatives found a tax cut they oppose.
So what? If he’s near $150k and can fully apply the tax credit, that the SAME thing as giving him the equivalent amount in spending money! if I didn’t have to pay taxes, I’d be living it up.

Why should an upper-middle class family with a six-figure income get excused from paying tax, while granny with her $40k income does have to pay? I thought you “compassionate” leftists were in favor of helping the lower and working class people. I guess only if they’re young, foolish, and have lots of kids they can’t afford?

This poster above is another example of leftists rewarding irresponsible behavior and having contempt for people who lived their entire lives responsibly, as tax-paying citizens.

OMG!! That fool has an M.D.? He/she/it doesn’t have the grasp of a basic Econ class.

It‘s also scary that a doctor would have such contempt for older people. I feel sorry for any of her victims over 65.
I think he’s a drug pusher who calls himself an MD.

Removing SALT caps was a cornerstone of their tax plan. Their base is now upper middle class lower upper class professionals, as well as many of the ultra-wealthy.
The two segments that vote Democrat are the upper upper middle class and above (about 15%) and the low-income dependent on subsidized housing, food stamps, Medicaid, etc (about 35%). The big swath in the middle - working and middle class (he other 50%) are Republicans.

That is why the Dems want to give OPM to those in the upper-middle class - like the $150k professionals (and below). They realize they need to bribe more people to vote for them. The devious thing is that they do this under the guise of “getting children out of poverty”.

Clinton’s tax proposal limited all deductions to a maximum of 28% taxable income. That made more sense to me given how we know the ultra wealthy are able to game deductions that go well beyond SALT.

Of course such a proposal would have adversely affected Trump…

I still remember when Trump claimed he would raise his own taxes. What a joke.

You have contempt for a) the ultra-wealthy, and b) retirees on modest fixed incomes. The only group you seem to think is deserving of other people’s money are six-figure families who cry that they need government help to support their children,

You are such a radical socialist. Thank G-d we are going to send all you fools to the dustbin come the November elections.

My head is spinning because this rhetoric is essentially the opposite of the rhetoric coming from the right for decades.

Tax cuts for people are good!
They pay for th!
You’re just jealous!
Class warfare!
We support families!

Your rhetoric can easily be used against your retiree in the same heartless way. Here you have a family of four who is trying to raise their kids and you want to jack up their taxes! How heartless! If a retiree doesn’t have enough to retire on, then they shouldn’t have been so irresponsible and saved more! Why are working Americans supposed to reward their irresponsible behavior!

Tax credits for families is a straight up Republican policy. None of you called them socialist.
Your brain is melted by partisan hackery.

If you were so concerned for the tax burden of retirees, maybe you should have supported candidates they have them a tax break and not massive corporations?

I still remember when I thought if I liked my plan I could keep my plan, period.

And your heartless rhetoric can be used in a more obvious way:

You are defending a family with a single earner earning well into the six figures, who decided to have four kids, and you would prefer money go to this affluent family, with the potential to increase their income if the second spouse was willing to work, than a retiree on a fixed income of $40k, with no earning potential.

That you want to give money to an affluent family - with the potential to earn more - and ooze contempt for a $40k retiree who has contributed to society, via work and taxes, for decades, is what makes MY head spin. Actually, it makes me nauseous.

Oh, the irony…..

I’m defending a family. Shucks. I guess that makes me a monster. Let me fix that. They had kids. What a bunch of jerks. God I hate them so much. Kids are awful. We don’t want those. They make me nauseous. Lord knows that kids never contribute to society or pay taxes.

Anyway, keep those SS checks coming daddy-o.

Oh, the irony…..
That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking given you’ve now decided that Republican policies are socialist scum.

And all it took for you to change your mind was that these policies were also adopted by Democrats.

I’m sorry, this really has zero to do with policy and is just straight up partisan tribalism. You are just doing as your told.

A growing trend is less you g women having kids. Perhaps this trend will continue and this situation will fix itself. With all the supposed job openings, this is a possibly.

You made it about Trump saying X and doing Y

I retorted with Obama saying X and Y happening.

It's called a response.
It’s called whataboutism and deflection.

Nothing in your post was an actual response to mine.
