Conservatives want the freedom of the past, not the culture of the past. Conservatives and Libertarians want to preserve the Constitution and the Founding principles that came from the Enlightenment Era.
Liberals want to progress away from the Constitution, they view it as an obstacle to their nanny state, welfare state where they can keep people dependent on government and tell you what to do.
.
Conservatives look at the Constitution as a cookbook telling you what receipes and what ingredients you are allowed to use
Liberals look at the Constitution as a kitchen where each generation can prepare the meals that best suit them
Do we really need to ban the Bill of Rights to have flying cars and a mag-lev train? C'mon.
The Founding principles are timeless and no idiotic generation will take my rights. Progressives always want to put their selfish fantasies above individual liberty.
Progressives sell their ideas by telling you the "what." But they fail to mention the "way." That's because their agenda requires force and trampling others to get there. Hitler wanted a utopia too, look at the means he used to get there.
What people don't understand is that freedom and adversity and challenges is the utopia.
