Really? Apparently you know nothing about the legal system.

If you want phone records, you have to get a warrant issued by a judge. The judge will require probable cause. "Being a republican" and "supporting Trump" are not quite good enough to get a warrant.

Subpoenas are issued to people for them to give information they have. Nunez can't give that info, it has to come from his cell provider. Which has to have a warrant to cough up the information.
