even Jews of the time didn't agree on what the messiah was. they couldn't agree on whether it was a messianic king who would drive out the romans or a spiritual savior.... or a combination of both. what we KNOW is there were a lot of so-called messiahs... all were crucified in the same manner as yeshua who was later called jesus (a latin name that had zero to do with his actual name).
