How Liberals Use Science

Lots of left-wingers have used science, yes. Gaspard Monge and Albert Einstein immediately come to mind.

And no, Hitler hated marxism: Godwin s Law Review Racial and Cultural Demonization

Marx was a proponent of the International Socialism. Which failed... National Socialism was the remedy for that failure. Of course, it failed to. And it keeps failing, everywhere it's tried, because it rejects the objectivity required to recognize truth..., thus it fails to develop trust, rinses away all sense of soundly reasoned morality and ultimately it fails to serve justice.

That's the perfect formula for failure... there's nothing that can do, but fail.

Glad socialism doesn't affect us then. The effect of socialism in the US is greatly exaggerated and used a a fear mongering tool for the idiots that believe it.

They pursued science .... they didn't use it. And they were objective... thus, they were not 'left-wingers'.

If they were here to read your drivel, they'd pity you for your mental deficiency... and they'd likely be disconcerted that technology has advanced sufficiently to give people of your pitiful intellectual means, a public forum.

Yes... Socialist policy only managed to collapse the international financial markets.

Nothing to worry about. Its effect is minimal.

Of course, the socialists elected a socialist to the Presidency. Who spent more in deficit in his first year, than the entire average Federal Budget of the preceding Democrat President. Which he did his second, third, fourth, fifth year... effectively DOUBLING the Federal Debt which he inherited, which took 230-ish years and 43 Presidents to accumulate.

Nothing to worry about... indeed. As there's nothing that can fix it now anyway.

I don't like using science in politics, but conservatives haven completely giving science to the left by wishing to destroy it. 66% of this supports funding science and believes we're a better country because of it.

Conservatives have lost a lot of ground because of this.

Ahhh we can fix it... the middle class(the ones that work hard to make the CEO his salary) will sacrifice so the 1 percent can receive their breaks.

Matthew... what would you say is the most profound example of applied Science in the US History?

Would you cay that it's fair to say that NASA is arguably the most profound example of applied science in the history of the US.

I don't know how old ya are, but I'm 54... and my youth was spent watching the Apollo Program sending enormous rockets into space... sending men to the moon, became routine.

Then... the US moved into the new frontier of social justice. And in mid-late 60s, the Great Society was born. And the applied science slowly atrophied... and the race to explore the moon dried up. And NASA began to focus on figuring out how to just keep us, just on the edge of our atmosphere and sending probes to Mars and taking pictures of rocks tumblin' through space.

We've shot the Federal Wad on sustaining the dependency of the useless. Trillions of dollars to enable one glaring failure after another.

There is no place for applied science in a culture which teaches its children lies... conflates fundamental mathematics and subjective, deceitful history... . Because dam' few scientists will be created in that pitiful environment.

Of course the Nazi's were socialist in name only. Once the were done with the Night of Long Knives the implimented fascism like they had in Italy, and like Pinochet later enacted in Chile, and like all the Pinochetists who call themselves "Republican" want to enact here. They are philosophically the same:

The Soviets actually collectivized ownership. The Nazi's never attempted it.
The Soviets promoted marxist social policies. The Nazi's promoted social conservatism:

"The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and co-operation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life"
-- Adolf Hitler; from national proclamation (Feb. 1, 1933)

"We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out."
-- Adolf Hitler, from speech in Berlin (October 24, 1933)

Hitler rejected Christianity as he aged. Like any politician in a Christian country, he continued to present a Christian persona for public consumption.
"Hitler's public relationship to religion has been characterised as one of opportunistic pragmatism.[8] His regime did not publicly advocate for state atheism, but it did seek to reduce the influence of Christianity on society. "
Religious views of Adolf Hitler - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

The appeal of the Nazi party was that government would provide you with a job. The State was the moral authority. The importance of the individual was secondary to the health of the State. In that way, the title of Socialist Workers Party was apropos.

Nazis were State socialism, as opposed to grassroots socialism.

1. It's been noted before that all one need do to herd Liberals in any direction is the phrase "studies show...."
Seems that this is the overcompensation by the less intelligent, yearning to be able to claim that science backs up their beliefs.

Let's take the Progressive/socialist love for eugenics.

2. In the novel "Ceremony of Innocence," BBC far east expert Humphrey Hawksley provides a reminder of the Progressive/socialist policies that led to the atrocities of the Holocaust.

Hawksley give a sense of the motives, and the aims, of the eugenics movement. Here, a few passages from the book:

"...Harry H. Laughlin, superintendent of the Eugenics Records Office, USA.

'He was the right-hand man for Albert Johnson, head of the House Committee on Immigration and Naturalization,...who created a politically acceptable environment to stop defective immigrants coming into your country, mainly from Eastern and Southern Europe, the Balkans and Russia...

The bill was passed after Laughlin cited IQ and prison statistics....these immigrants were the dregs of humanity, mentally deficient and unable to assimilate....It was a perfect combination of science and politics.

...defining what a human being is....that a human being can be genetically altered animal which possesses the ability to reason, argue facts, arrive at a conclusion and so on."

The character speaking goes on to place the blame for eugenics just where it belongs:

"....the ideas all came from [America]. You were the pioneers in this science until Germany damaged it irrevocably with the Holocaust....We've devised a universal IQ test which we use on children of all races....so if we use [the ability to reason, argue facts, arrive at a conclusion and so on] we are blurring the line between human and animal life.

I know, I know. We are in a battle between religion and science."
p. 232-234.

Everything Hawksley has his character say is true.

3. And Hawkley spoke the truth when he had the character say " We are in a battle between religion and science."
Here, Oliver Wendell Holmes for Progressive science, and Pierce Butler for religion:

a. The most revered of liberal icons, Oliver Wendell Holmes, concurred with eugenics, to the extent that he attempted to write it into the Constitution. In 1927, a young unwed mother named Carrie Buck was sterilized against her will by order of the Supreme Court, decision (Buck v. Bell) written by Oliver Wendell Holmes, who said : ”The principle that sustains compulsory vaccination is broad enough to cover cutting the Fallopian tubes.” It turned out that she was not retarded, as the state had contended. Based on the Buck Decision, more than 60 thousand were operated on across the U.S. as late as the 1970’s. And the opinion was adopted in Germany, where, within a year, some 56 thousand German ‘patients’ had been sterilized.

b. Everyone is aware of the Liberal/Progressive distain for religion. The only vote against the state, in an 8-1 decision was the archconservative and only Catholic on the court, Pierce Butler. “Butler was a Roman Catholic and a Democrat, but was also, most importantly, a political conservative.” Pierce Butler
"Ceremony of Innocence," BBC far east expert Humphrey Hawksley

Mike McKillop was once a respected Hong Kong policeman. But now, living alone after his Chinese wife disappeared to the mainland with their two children, he is a pen-pusher, wallowing in alcoholic self-pity.

------------------------------------

Gee, that sounds just like every progressive I ever met.

Actually, I'm pleased that the passage I quoted forced you to research Hawksley and "Ceremony of Innocence."
Being a Liberal, I guess you don't read many books. I do. I've regularly found that authors have to become experts in aspects that pertain to their novels. And that is true of Hawksley. I researched what he wrote in the passage I provided, and found that he was totally correct.

Here are lines from the OP that make the point that Liberals define down what human beings are so that they can rationalize marginalizing and/or destroying them. Liberals do so to this very day, as I showed in the thread where various words were used by Liberal for babies, so as to make abortion acceptable.

These are the quotes from Hawksley's book that appear in the OP....

1. .Harry H. Laughlin, superintendent of the Eugenics Records Office, USA.(fact)

2. ...
created a politically acceptable environment to stop defective immigrants coming into your country, mainly from Eastern and Southern Europe, the Balkans and Russia...(that was the aim of Progressives in manipulating "science.")

3. Laughlin cited IQ and prison statistics....these immigrants were the dregs of humanity, mentally deficient and unable to assimilate ("science that proved totally incorrect.)

4. ...a human being can be genetically altered animal which possesses the ability to reason, argue facts, arrive at a conclusion and so on.(see what I mean? Are human beings no different from any other animal? Yeah...if you are a Progressive/Liberal)

5. .(The eugenics ideas)..the ideas all came from [America]. You were the pioneers in this science until Germany damaged it irrevocably with the Holocaust..

6. ...we are blurring the line between human and animal life...(the aim of the Progressives)

7. We are in a battle between religion and science." (That's why Progressives/Liberals find religion anathema....stands in the way of plans like eugenics.)

Bet you cannot find that any of the above incorrect.

Socialism is Sweden dumbass, not Cuba.

IMO, socialism has never been adequately defined for the simple reason that there has never been a successful socialist system, politically OR economically.

Sweden is more business friendly than the US. Doesn't sound very 'socialist' to me.

And, oh yes. I am very aware that Marx never called for the State ownership of the means of production.

Too bad most socialists don't know that
