How to get punched at a campaign rally:
1. Go to a rally full of idiots.
2. Disagree with them.
3. ???
4. Profit
Honestly, there isn't any excusing the behavior of a guy acting like an ass at a rally. Personally, I'd say that if you don't agree with a candidate then there are other forums for that discourse. On the other hand, punching somebody that is acting like an ass makes you look far more ignorant than he does. Now, if you want to look ignorant...then hey, by all means go ahead and punch everybody you don't agree with...on the other hand, if you want to act like a civilized American then it is probably best to stop acting like a gorilla and, instead, act a bit more like a normal human being.
Assault is a minor offense.
All of the sudden, people on the right are doing the same thing the people on the left are doing, and for some reason, the left doesn't like it. Maybe they are afraid we have been pushed to far, and we are going to start pushing back. But hey, what do expect, when one of the candidates running on their side, wants to pick your pocket and give it to his friends.
I really don't condone violence but if you show up to a rally for the purpose of pissing people off to the point where some nice 78 year old man loses control then you have it coming. I can go up to someone and say all sorts of things with the goal of getting them to punch me in the face. I can then claim to be the victim in the whole thing. Would that seem fair?
BTW, self-defense laws do not apply to situations where you create the situation in the first place.
