How would you feel if Obama gave ALL lower income people food stamps?
$100-$150 dollars/month for incomes of $0-20,000/year
$25-50 dollars/month for incomes 20,000-35,000/year
0 for anyone making more...

What would this do for the economy???


Leftist would argue that this would decrease violence and theft.
Right would argue that our economy can't afford it and that the government would control peoples lives.

Any spending is good for the economy. This would be good but it could be better if we increased taxes on the rich to pay for it.

I think you should only get food stamps if you have children, are elderly or disabled. Young single people should not get food stamps. I never even thought about applying for food stamps in my 20s, but I know single males that get them. Of course they get about $60 a month, but that ads up.
They invited Top Ramen and cheap TV dinners for a reason.

There is technically no reason at all why each adult American couldn't receive a $30,000 annual stipend from the government. Annual GDP growth would easily support it.

However, a nation with too many idle thinkers might be dangerous to the government.
