I have one question: would Ford's testimony convict kavanaugh in a court room?

If you say yes you go by feelings and not by the rule of law and the constitution

If you say no then you go by rule of law and the constitution.

Prosecutor tells wavering senators she wouldn't charge Kavanaugh, as vote looms

The sex-crimes prosecutor Republicans hired to question Brett Kavanaugh and accuser Christine Blasey Ford at Thursday's hearing told senators the case would not hold up in a courtroom, sources told Fox News—guidance that could prove critical as wavering lawmakers prepare to vote.

The prosecutor, Rachel Mitchell, spoke at an overnight meeting where all 51 Republican senators were present, two people briefed on the session said.

“Mitchell spelled it out and was clear with senators that she could not take this anywhere near a courtroom,” one source told Fox News. She told them she would not charge the Supreme Court nominee and reportedly said she wouldn't even seek a search warrant.

Mitchell’s opinion could sway fence-sitting senators ahead of a critical Senate Judiciary Committee vote set for Friday afternoon.

In a courtroom a prosecutor would bring tons more evidence before going to trial.

In a courtroom, Brett doesn't get to mouth off to the judge and prosecutor... it's called contempt of court.
In a courtroom someone would actually cross examine the "victim".
Also, she would be prosecuted for filing a false police report and then sued for defamation.
That’s why she hasn’t.

She was removed from her job by LIndsey Graham's outburst for being ineffective in her questioning of Dr Ford; thus if she actually said this, it was to get her pay check for failing so miserably.

Or, because the investigation was so weak, and so many witnesses were not called to testify, so many documents were hidden, that she would require the witnesses be subpoenaed and all documents produced.

Nope
But this is not a court room

It is a job interview to see if this guy deserves a promotion
Doesn’t matter. She made an accusation of large magnitude. She hasn’t field in Maryland, why? Probably because she has been told she will be sued for false accusations. This person is a lying sac. Anyone that backs her is stupid.

Nope. She may have opened herself up for purgery in a court. There is a reason she never filed a report with Maryland.
She could be charged with perjury when they find she lied in committee but they're counting on the fact that the ball less wonders on the committee would never charge her because of the optics.

And in the meantime, minus due process, this man is denied confirmation based on the premise that he's guilty until proven innocent. Since the only reason that he would have been denied confirmation was the unfounded charge, he would certainly have to step down from his current position on the appellate court and leave the bench entirely. It sickens me that people like you are fine with destroying a person's life for partisan politics and then try to tell yourselves that that's not really what you're doing. You lowlife cretins can pat yourself on the back but you know every time you look in the mirror that you're at best a horrid American and a wretched excuse for a human.

Skipping over the insults, I never said I was fine with what's going on. It's all political theater from what I can tell. I was merely pointing out that no one's rights are being violated.

The whole thing is clearly and obviously a strategic effort by Democrats to get the MeToo contingent stoked up before the elections. They're also hoping to delay the confirmation of another Justice until after the mid-terms, much like Republicans did near the end of Obama's last term. And Republicans are playing right into their hands. They should have anticipated this. Flake is just trying to minimize the fallout.

The presumption of innocence until proven guilty is an integral part of American society regardless of whether an allegation is made in a courtroom, a classroom or the public square. The basic unfairness of the guilty until proven innocent concept being used should disgust most moral people. Those people using such a concept should not be given moral cover by people pretending that there is no violation because it's not a courtroom. The fact that this allegation can cause irreparable harm to this man and his family cannot be overlooked. I can't see how anyone with any sense of fairplay can support this.

And come again saying it's not a court ..??

The Senate Judiciary Committee, established in 1816, considers topics ranging from criminal justice to antitrust and intellectual property law, as well provides advice and consent for judicial nominations. The committee typically conducts confirmation hearings for nominees to the Supreme Court, courts of appeals (circuit courts), and district courts. These judicial officers, known as Article III judges, are appointed for a life term

I don't think a judge would even let the proceedings go forward given the accuser has failed to show that a crime took place. You can't charge someone with doing something at an unknown time...at an unknown location...to a person you haven't proven they even KNOW without some kind of proof! How could anyone "defend" themselves against a vague accusation such as that?
