If you knew what SERE training he got was (you don't), you'd know McCain didn't have any information they could use...they already knew what flights were coming off his carrier, but not when, and he didn't either. He was bayoneted in the foot and groin in the paddy he was taken in. He already had a broken shoulder. I have no problem with him eventually telling them what he knew because he didn't know anything. SERE is mostly about not getting discovered and there is no time limit to give NRSN only. You hold out until you can't bear it and then give them false information as long as possible while planning an escape. You DO NOT make propaganda films or broadcasts or inform on other prisoners for them like he did.

Still, it might make a lot of people feel a bit better to put together a list of thousands or millions of names of dissatisfied conservative voters and mail it to his office telling him in the twilight of his career that given the choice, they'd just as soon see him buried elsewhere. That he is no conservative, no friend to the conservative, that the GOP is little enough comfort to the conservative and that if Sarah had been at the top of the ticket instead of him, the GOP might have won in 2008. What you and the OP miss, apparently deliberately, is that a Senator's job is not to represent "conservatism' or a "political party" --- it's to represent the constituents who elected him or her. Which, unless you lived in AridZona during any of those elections, does not apply to you.

And even if it did it would have no bearing whatsoever on whether his military service earns a plot at Arlington. You have neither the authority nor the moral standing to deny somebody's military honors just because you're personally butthurt about his politics.
